I recently lost a pet that really really hurt down deep. She meant the world to me even though I didn't admit it. At the end, seeing her laying on that table and myself aware of what was coming, tore me up beyond words. 

I wrote this song in remembrance of her for all the joy she brought me over the years I had her. Kenny penned a really nice set of words that hold true. My hopes are that this touches and maybe even helps with the pain, for anyone who has recently lost something or someone and are having a hard time dealing with it.

We Are All The Same

Skybald are a three-piece band based in Staffordshire. With musical influences ranging through classic rock, progressive metal, folk, industrial and djent, the band describe their music style as simply 'Alt-Metal'.

Singer/rhythm guitarist, Philippe Atherton-Blenkiron, and drummer, Rich Beckwith had moderate local success with their previous post-grunge band, Sumofly. But after a dramatic split and a three-year hiatus (involving a couple of other projects - namely Ambernova) they decided to embark on a heavier, more experimental project.

Meeting in renowned Newcastle rock-bar 'The Rigger', Atherton-Blenkiron and Beckwith enlisted lead guitarist and talented producer, Jon Ward - of BitterCreek and ScapeGrace fame. The trio quickly went about writing and recording - first in a converted toilet block in Stoke-on-Trent, before upgrading to the renovated stables of Axis Studios in the moors of Draycott.

Skybald's atmospheric music combines heavy chord-driven riffs, melodic vocals, shredding guitar solos and complex drumming patterns to both please the ear and keep you on your toes.

Their songs cover a variety of topics ranging from the political to the downright fantastical, and their new album '...title...' manages to both poetically explore concepts of existentialism, as well as sing us a song about an unfortunate pirate...

The band are currently looking for a bassist in order for them to take their music into live venues.
