This Individual Soul

The first of 3 movements of my CONCERTO FOR ORNETTE.  Soloist is Morgan Jones, then saxophonist at the Juilliard School, and the orchestra is the New Juilliard Ensemble, conducted by Joel Sachs.  Each  movement begins with the soloist playing a different "jazz fanfare" in honoring of Ornette Coleman, who named this movement "Only Life Can...".

CARMAN MOORE'S setting of a W.B. Yeats poem for double choir and piano.  THE SORROW OF LOVE was commissioned by the Gregg Smith Singers....soprano solo sung by Naomi Itami.

The Sorrow of Love

CARMAN MOORE composed BLUE...RED...GREEN on commission from the String Trio of Sanford Allen, Vn.; the late violist Jesse Levine; and cellist Astrid Schween.  It loosely honors Spring and all that is both good and green.  It is also simply a piece of chamber music, good for the ears and soul.

CARMAN MOORE'S RIDING THE EDGE is performed here by The Skymusic Ensemble at a concert at St. John the Divine Cathedral in New York City.  Here Moore conducts such stellar musicians as Sam Rivers and Dale Kleps, sopr.saxoph.; Leroy Jenkins and Charles Burnham, vns.; Gordon Gottlieb, percussion; Eric Johnson, Kenneth Bichel, and Marianna Rosett, keyboards; and flutists Robert Cram, Kitty Hay, and Margaret Lancaster.  Next should be RIDING THE EDGE, 2nd Half.
