The French DJ & producer Sébastien Bouchet makes a spectacular re-entry to the musical cosmos after a few years hiatus.  Having been a regular name on the circuit via releases for Hypercolour, Kompakt and Freak ‘n’ Chic, Bouchet swoops back into orbit with the two-track single ‘Comète’ for Kneaded Pains.

This week on Topshelf we are delighted to have with us Bristol-Based Italo Disco DJ/Producer Emmet Read.

One of the fresh young faces representing the new wave of Italo Disco in the UK alongside PADDY, REES, RED & Tech Support to name a few, Emmet Read's tight production, gorgeous synths and captivating bass lines are truly something to behold and have lead him to building an already impressive back catalogue of Italo anthems including tracks ‘Happy People’, ’Dxheaven’ and one our absolute favourite in ‘Humans’.

We’re at the start of a very exciting career, that seems set to reprise one of the most glorious decades in music and we are so there for it.

He’s been a part of the electronic music for two decades with a first release under his given name Richard called Lieben Tun. Throughout his career he has released several albums as well as dozens of singles - sometimes with almost poetic track titles and  sometimes simply based on life itself and reality. He’s blending Electronica, Techno, (Deep) House and Acid - but foremost he has this spheric, deep signature sound that he either works into his calmer tracks or in his clubbier production - probably because his music touches and moves people. Richard von der Schulenburg short RVDS is one of Hamburg’s poster boys when it comes to sophisticated, demanding and ambitious music. Consequently he has had releases on labels such as Uncanny Valley, Smallville, Pudel Produkte, It’s or Bureau B to name a few. On latter his album Cosmic Diversity drops this Friday. Reason enough to have him here with us today at absolutely on music.

Omar Santis makes his debut on Karakul with the four track EP ‘A T.D.L.D Joint’.

Karakul is a new label focusing on deeper House cuts from around the world. First up is Chilean born Stockholm dwelling Omar Santis.

Omar first came to our attention through his records on the Woodsmen & Lady Log label, the first of which was a split 12” with Niklas Andersson which he then followed up with his own EP titled simply ‘W&LL003’ a few months later. Two fantastic records featuring his low slung, immersive House production that caught Karakul’s ears immediately.

Omar tells us ‘A T.D.L.D Joint’ is an abbreviation of ‘Ta det lugnt daa’ meaning ‘Take it easy then yeah’ and on this 12” he certainly does, in the best possible way. It’s his most soulful record to date, building upon his detailed signature sound with perfectly placed vocals on ‘Stark Champagne’, melancholic Rhodes on ‘Lulu’s Jam’, tribal percussion and pads on ‘At The Shanzai Hotel’ and finally lowering the pace altogether for the emotional ender ‘Inward’.

Canadian DJ and soon to be producer Donotstealmyname delivered an energetic and powerful set at this summer’s Picnic Electronik Montreal that was foremost the result of growing into the electronic music scene and breathing it for more than five years. As part of the Montreal scene, a city where, according to the artist, Techno is still dominant, Sabrina Richer, Donotstealmyname’s real name, not necessarily represents a counterpart but rather rides her Nu Tech-House-wave with  references to House music as well as 90s infused tracks with a slight touch of trancey and ravey elements. It’s hardly surprising that she names a House-vet and two more tech-oriented artists as her (musical) inspiration or artists she’d like to share the decks with. Furthermore, Sabrina shares insights into the local scene, rolls out the red carpet for some of the crews and clubs in the city, takes us on a journey into her past and what she’s nostalgic about and also how she became involved with electronic music. Additionally Donotstealmyname mixed and compiled the latest edition of our art:cast-series.

Tropical Chill Deep House Mix 2025-Relaxing Summer Mix 1247 Beats Vibes USA

Swedish DJ, producer and songwriter Johan Blende debuts on Hell Yeah with a journey to the heart of a grown-up dancefloor in the Med.

Blende is a master of mixing up retro 70s and 80s sound into modern dancefloor delights. He's been doing it for two decades on a wide range of cultured labels from Studio Barnhus to Eskimo, always with a rare charm and leftfield perceptive. With this EP, he taps into the magic of hazy afternoons turning into euphoric evenings by the sea.

'Off To Mallorca' jangles with taught bass notes and sunburnt vocals. Distant synths glow, the jumbled percussion injects just the right dose of ass-wiggling funk and this playful yet sophisticated cut builds toward a blissful rapture. 'Television' ups the ante with prickly acid panning about the mix over sleazy, low-slung drums. Tension simmers as edgy synth motifs stalk the groove and anticipation builds before the whole thing explodes into a cosmic disco payoff. It's raw, unpredictable, and perfect for when things start to get a little weird.

'Como No Brasil' gazes skyward and basks in a wash of shimmering melodies and breezy, wordless vocals that drift like clouds over layered, sun-drenched rhythms. It’s a dreamy, tropical float until a surprise acid storm rolls in and moves things from tranquil paradise to dancefloor hypnosis. Finally, 'Carousel Bagatelle' is a layered, late-night trip that feels both playful and introspective. Hypnotic synths swirl around screwy acid lines and supple, dubbed-out house drums that spin you into a daze.

Blende’s debut on Hell Yeah lands like a postcard from a perfect party - sun-dazed, acid-kissed and endlessly replayable.
