After a very sweet ‚"Sweet Berries EP" released earlier this year, we've called upon rising Greek star Alex Dimou to compose and mix Get Physical's ‚"Tracks Volume 6". Featuring brand-new artwork and comprised of a special 60-minute set created especially for the release -and then cut into 10 DJ-friendly tidbits-, the mix showcases Dimou's ability to go from the deepest of house to darker, dance floor-worthy tech sounds, with enough time to stop by acid and even jazzy territory. It's also the first of Get Physical's "Tracks" compilations to focus on one artist behind the mixing instead of featuring tracks by numerous up-and-comers, giving the single featured artist the chance to communicate ideas more freely through an entire mix. 

And boy, has Dimou stepped up to the challenge. The Greek producer says: " Get Physical is a label I have been following since my early days. Their taste in music, their history and their attitude really made my decision to release music with them very easy. I think that the "Tracks 6" project is a great opportunity to show my perspective of music. I wanted to make a mix of cinematic elements, minimal sounds and hypnotic structure. That's why I didn't make each track separately, but instead made a 60-minute project."

From laid-back to epic, morning-epiphany material, this is one musical search that leaves no stone unturned. Perfect to press play and forget about.

Slam make a welcome return with 2 monster tracks bringing us Old School Jams For The New Republic.

Having just released 'Collecting Data', their compilation of singles and remixes since 2008, the duo now unleash 2 fantastic new productions on their home label Soma. Slam have pretty much defined the techno and tech-house scene emanating from Glasgow and the UK for more than 2 decades. This latest release is their first new music to be released on Soma for quite a while after much of the Slam catalogue was remixed and released for last year’s 20th anniversary of their imprint.

'Primitive Sound' delves straight in at the deep end and is dedicated to the dance floor. Simple yet effective drums power through with intricate rhythms leading into a looping synth line which increases in intensity, leaving heads banging and fists pumping!

'System V System' fondly reminisces, laying down a classic Slam sound, while also revealing a darker side. The powerful low end moves you and is augmented hauntingly by a pad line that creeps up your spine while remaining rooted within the realms of peak time techno.

Slam push tirelessly into the future with this release and continue to show why they are so highly regarded within the global techno and tech-house scenes!

Slam (aka Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle) are a tour de force on the global techno circuit. Their unique, six deck, back-to-back DJ performances have seen the duo play leading clubs and festivals across the world. They are renowned for both their experience and their powerful, contemporary sound. 

They are co-owners of Glasgow's Riverside Festival, and also host the legendary Maximum Pressure warehouse parties, which showcase the best emerging local talent alongside some of the most established names in international techno.

Their iconic Soma Records label boasts in excess of 600 releases, hosting Mcmillan and Meikle's own productions and many of today's most cutting-edge techno artists.

The last few years have seen some of the duo's most prolific studio output as they continue to innovate and keep things moving forward, most recently with the release of their experimental full length record Athenæum 101. In addition, Slam have also remixed tracks from the likes of Planetary Assault Systems, Clouds, Dax J, Damon Wild, Richie Hawtin, and Truncate, to name just a few. 

Slam also host one of Techno's most respected weekly podcasts, Slam Radio, which has now surpassed over 400 episodes. The show allows the duo to demonstrate their conviction to creating and promoting music and vibes that provide an antidote to the mainstream by inviting fellow artists from the vibrant Techno scene, from obscure names to current trailblazers.
