Blending in the classical side of his formative years with a cutting-edge approach to programming and live music, multi-faceted Berlin-based artist Hüseyin Evirgen alias Magna Pia has cut a lane thoroughly his own in the landscape of contemporary techno, and more generally the whole of electronic music. Constantly pushing back the boundaries between tried-and-tested patterns and groundbreaking incursions into uncharted instrumental territories, Evirgen serves up for us one of his distinctly deep-reaching sonic voyages, somewhere between high-intensity 4x4 wares, dub hypnosis and off-kilter divagations into the great unknown.

Patrick Lindsey has an illustrious history as an influential artist stemming from 1994, who also many techno aficionados will know as Voodooamt. A solid production catalogue spanning many hit works for labels like Heiko Laux’s Kanzleramt, Coyu’s Suara, Marc Romboy’s Systematic, Dubfire’s SCI+TEC, two albums on Harthouse, and running his own School Records, prove an undoubted pedigree. He also lists collaboration credits with Terminal M’s boss Monika Kruse, Gregor Tresher while also offering remixes for the likes of Adam Beyer, Radio Slave, Thomas Schumacher, to Oliver Huntemann, as well as DJ’ing all around the world. This exclusive mix has an introspective start with raw, hypnotic tracks with sci-fi elements, grinding textures, and haunting hooks. Later adding heavy analogue power, he drops some jackin’ cuts injected with energy and ripping synths. Throw in some hardgroove sounds and Detroit-style deepness for good measure, this set is a timeless trip of obvious class, oozing with skill and honed experience behind it. Denise Rabe released her first 12” on German imprint Mutewax in 2015. A solo EP on Arts sub label Arts Collective quickly succeeded her debut the same year, leading up to the label publishing her third release in 2017. This is also the year Denise actualized her own eponymous label Rabe.

Rabe the label, just like its founder, is all about techno. So far, three hyper modern brutalist sounding 12-inches from Denise herself has seen the light of day. Rabe’s productions are frantic yet deep industrial adventures, all carrying a hefty gothic presence. Her talent has not only caught the ears of eager fans, but also of recognized producers such as Rrose and Shxcxchcxsh, who both have contributed remixes for the artist.

Brought up on hip hop in a small German town, Denise learned to DJ at the age of 16, scratching and mixing, later diving further into electronic music via drum ‘n’ bass and jungle. From there exploring various styles of house, only to some years later finally ending up in techno territory, understanding this is where she truly belonged. Her DJ-sets are powered with the same energy as her own productions: dark minimalistic heavy-hitting eerie techno, often flirting with elements reminiscing of modern tribal- and trance.

Denise Rabe is a pragmatic grounded artist with a clear vision. Her passion for music has led her to be involved in the scene on many levels; whether it has been as a booker for Berlin venue Ipse; a radio show host for the city’s Sweatlodge channel or a club promoter for her own night HIDE and SEEK at Ipse. Denise is also one part of Lyon collective TFIF, short for The Future Is Female, which as the name hints fights for gender equality within the techno scene.

Slam (aka Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle) are a tour de force on the global techno circuit. Their unique, six deck, back-to-back DJ performances have seen the duo play leading clubs and festivals across the world. They are renowned for both their experience and their powerful, contemporary sound. 

They are co-owners of Glasgow's Riverside Festival, and also host the legendary Maximum Pressure warehouse parties, which showcase the best emerging local talent alongside some of the most established names in international techno.

Their iconic Soma Records label boasts in excess of 600 releases, hosting Mcmillan and Meikle's own productions and many of today's most cutting-edge techno artists.

The last few years have seen some of the duo's most prolific studio output as they continue to innovate and keep things moving forward, most recently with the release of their experimental full length record Athenæum 101. In addition, Slam have also remixed tracks from the likes of Planetary Assault Systems, Clouds, Dax J, Damon Wild, Richie Hawtin, and Truncate, to name just a few. 

Slam also host one of Techno's most respected weekly podcasts, Slam Radio, which has now surpassed over 400 episodes. The show allows the duo to demonstrate their conviction to creating and promoting music and vibes that provide an antidote to the mainstream by inviting fellow artists from the vibrant Techno scene, from obscure names to current trailblazers.
