ALAN OLDHAM has been called “Detroit’s Renaissance Man,” equally as known for his art as for his music under the pseudonym DJ T-1000.  

The Detroit-born polymath, now living and working in Berlin, began his dual careers in the late 80s. First as the host of the “Fast Forward Program” on WDET FM 101.9, Detroit’s first-ever radio show devoted exclusively to electronic music, and as a young indie comic artist, writing and drawing his own original creation, “Johnny Gambit” (predating the Marvel character). Oldham was later tapped by his childhood friend, Derrick May, to illustrate the label art for the record, “Nude Photo,” on the fledgling Transmat label, and Detroit Techno history was made. 

Oldham was later hired by another childhood friend, Jeff Mills, to do PR for the nascent Underground Resistance collective, writing press releases for the label. When Mills departed for a solo career, partner “Mad” Mike Banks tapped AO to replace him as DJ for their Australian Tour of 1992, and the codename DJ T-1000 was adopted. 

Jumpstart to infamy.

Since then, as an international DJ, Oldham has spun all over the planet, as far afield as Manila, The Phillipines, and Shanghai, China. When he’s not behind the decks at home clubs Tresor Berlin and Suicide Circus (Berlin), on the road or in the studio making music for BPitch Control, Suspected Music, Third Ear,  Elypsia Records, or his own Pure Sonik Records label, he is making new paintings and organizing art openings showcasing his iconic works. Oldham has put on art happenings in Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin, Vienna, and Detroit, as well as his works being currently on view at the Design Museum in London, as part of its “Electronic: From Kraftwerk to the Chemical Brothers” exhibit. On the graphic novel side, he has also worked on the Afrofuturist classic “The Book of Drexciya, Vol 1.”

Oldham is keeping busy during the current pandemic, drawing and painting, doing commission work, online teaching for RAMP Academy, making new music and remixing with MASCHINE MK3 and ABLETON, and generally moving forward in one of the world’s most creative cities, Berlin.

A vinyl enthusiast, @decka-music style of mixing is energetic and fast paced, yet tight and precise. He built up his a reputation as a producer, first making noise in 2015 on Darwin’s Berlin label SPE:C with the « Begyndelsen ».
 
Decka makes music that journeys through bare-bones Techno, crafting hypnotic polyrhythmic patterns that look both to a tough, hypnotic sound and a sub-low pressure rooted in his home city, Bristol. 

Decka’s Unterwegs imprint that he runs with @theladymachine translates to « on the move » correlating with the label's vision to expand upon the idea that music is forever changing, evolving into new territories.

Melómano desde la cuna, su pasión por la música comenzó en la década de los ochenta, cuando, siendo aún un niño, empezó a experimentar con ritmos electrónicos. Armado con un legendario ordenador MSX de 8 bits y rudimentario software chip tune, dio sus primeros pasos en la creación musical.

Su carrera como DJ despegó a comienzos de los 2000, durante la época dorada del techno en Granada. Amante del vinilo y perfeccionista en la técnica, rápidamente se consolidó en la escena techno local. Fue un habitual en las cabinas de las principales salas y discotecas de la ciudad, como la mítica Öpera 4, Quilombo, Sala Wow ... entre otras. Además, participó en festivales de renombre como el Rocket Festival, y el Dragon Festival de Órgiva, uno de los mayores teknivales de Europa. A lo largo de su trayectoria ha compartido cabina con grandes nombres de la escena electrónica como Jerome Hill, Pendulum, Pepo, Adam Freeland y muchos más.

En 2011, expandió su visión musical al frente del programa de radio "Music In Motion Radio", emitido en Diva Sound Radio, donde estuvo dos temporadas a cargo de la dirección y presentación y actualmente realiza las mismas funciones en "33rpm radio" de la emisora Urban Revolution.

Cofundador en 2009 del sello discográfico Play Techno Records, lideró su gestión hasta 2014, lanzando producciones bajo el a.k.a Nano D.A. y colaborando con sus producciones con otros sellos como Jamenba Records, Nocturnal Sounds Records,Psicopatik y Hexil Black Music. En 2022, dio un nuevo paso en su carrera con el lanzamiento de su sello digital Mechanical Wave Records , especializado en el techno más purista, donde además lidera la curaduría artística junto a su cofundador Cerøn.

En el ámbito cultural, en 2022 fue parte clave en la fundación de la "33rpm DJ Culture Society", una sociedad cultural enfocada en promover la cultura del vinilo. Actualmente ocupa el puesto de vicepresidente, liderando talleres y eventos educativos que preservan este legado musical.

Su estilo, tanto en sets como en producciones, está marcado por influencias electrónicas de los años 80, con bajos contundentes, grooves hipnóticos y bombos potentes que definen su sonido. En 2021, tras el parón causado por la pandemia, lanzó un ambicioso proyecto de live show 100% analógico, fusionando techno con los sonidos pioneros del electro, utilizando icónicas cajas de ritmos 808 y sintetizadores vintage Roland, transportando al oyente a las raíces del género.
En definitiva, su música es un viaje para los oídos más experimentados, lo que él describe como "MÚSICA PARA ADULTOS".

Slam (aka Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle) are a tour de force on the global techno circuit. Their unique, six deck, back-to-back DJ performances have seen the duo play leading clubs and festivals across the world. They are renowned for both their experience and their powerful, contemporary sound. 

They are co-owners of Glasgow's Riverside Festival, and also host the legendary Maximum Pressure warehouse parties, which showcase the best emerging local talent alongside some of the most established names in international techno.

Their iconic Soma Records label boasts in excess of 600 releases, hosting Mcmillan and Meikle's own productions and many of today's most cutting-edge techno artists.

The last few years have seen some of the duo's most prolific studio output as they continue to innovate and keep things moving forward, most recently with the release of their experimental full length record Athenæum 101. In addition, Slam have also remixed tracks from the likes of Planetary Assault Systems, Clouds, Dax J, Damon Wild, Richie Hawtin, and Truncate, to name just a few. 

Slam also host one of Techno's most respected weekly podcasts, Slam Radio, which has now surpassed over 400 episodes. The show allows the duo to demonstrate their conviction to creating and promoting music and vibes that provide an antidote to the mainstream by inviting fellow artists from the vibrant Techno scene, from obscure names to current trailblazers.
