RL. 049 Matrixxman

Running the voodoo down since 2021, French DJ and producer Klint established his name within the upper layers of the techno scene at the speed of light. 

From his seminal debut and successive follow-ups on Planet Rhythm onto his freshest delivery for Glasgow’s finest, Soma Records, the Montpellier-based artist has piled up head-turning releases one after the other. 

Scanning the fringes between gridlocked 4x4 plastering and zero-G cosmonautics, his series of outings on the likes of Modularz ('The Beyonder', 2021), his acclaimed EP for Truncate ('Apache', 2022), or his hot-off- the-press remix for Alan Fitzpatrick alongside Planetary Assault Systems aka Luke Slater,  as well as his Arsenic EP (2023) on Radio Slave's imprint, REKIDS, all of Klint's releases bear the hallmarks of an artist continually reaching for techno's most differentiating assets and time-proof values. 

Putting on a fully immersive experience for the body and soul together, Klint lays down fuel-efficient material, built to withstand extensive club use without losing any of its angular punch. Cutting his path at the frontline of industrial and abstract techno, the Frenchman keeps writing his name and legacy in capitals.

For the past twenty years, Argentinian-born, Barcelona-based artist Juan Pablo Pfirter has been a driving force behind a sound that's alternately steely, dark, and uplifting, remaining true to the founding principles of techno while infusing it with his avant-garde touch.

Since his early days, whether through DJing, producing, or as a label owner, Pfirter has demonstrated his talent with focus and style. He's left his mark on esteemed labels like CLR, Figure, Mord, and Stroboscopic Artefacts with select singles, while headlining renowned electronic music venues and events such as Berghain, Tresor, Concrete, Awakenings, and Time Warp. Since his first European tour in 2005, Juan Pablo has tirelessly shaped one of the most distinctive sounds in contemporary electronic music, blending stadium-sized kicks with textured organic elements and hypnotic sub-bass motifs that remain captivating after countless listens. 

In 2006, Pfirter launched his own imprint, MindTrip, which has since become a prominent fixture in the techno landscape. The label serves not only as a platform for his own productions but also for those of his close friends and collaborators, including luminaries such as Flug, Kashpitzky, Nørbak, Stanislav Tolkachev, Dold, and more. Additionally, MindTrip has thrived through its monthly podcast series, featuring acclaimed artists like Angel Molina, Setaoc Mass, and Amotik, each presenting an hour of music that embodies the ethos of the label. 

Having released over 50 club-oriented records, Pfirter ventured into the realm of albums with 2019's "The Empty Space," offering a panoramic view of the subtle intricacies and emotional depth of his craft. His sophomore album, "Altered States," further explores the nuances and expressive possibilities within techno, balancing club-focused realities with introspective, psychoactive elements deeply rooted in the genre's tradition. 

Continuing to bridge the gap between the visceral and the cerebral, Pfirter consistently delivers compelling works that resonate long after the last strobe light fades. While his singles dominate specialist charts, the depth of his compositions lingers in the minds of listeners long after the club doors close. In Pfirter's hands, darkness becomes oddly comforting, inviting listeners into his unique sonic universe.

Vibraform by Berlin-based hardware and live artist Peryl provides an analytical yet deeply instinctive view on music. It reflects the duality between flow and restraint, between self-exploration and the healthy act of setting limits. At its core lies a certain nonchalance - a refusal to act on voices and trends while maintaining full commitment to sound itself.

Meticulous sound design, unpredictable, morphing basslines and an intentional timeless aesthetic offer a rare window into Peryl’s creative state of mind. Even as he tries to sidestep personal narratives, emotions inevitably surface in the music, subtly shaping its character. The result is not a confessional piece of work, but an abstraction that remains universal rather than private, while still carrying a trace of personal truth. Four tracks that are striking a rare balance between novelty, grace and aggressive functionality, including a remix by Rødhåd, offer to find purpose in the act of believing that sooner or later art reveals a logic of its own.

The 195th Global Vibe Radio voyage sees PoleGroup mainstay and Faut Section label boss Lewis Fautzi at the helm for one hour of high-intensity, trippy, mental techno.

Lewis Fautzi has had a meteoric ascension in the global techno scene like a projectile fired into space at the speed of light. Establishing the norm of releasing on well-respected labels, his discography began with a 2013 release on Soniculture followed by a lineage of releases on classic techno label Slam ́s imprint Soma Quality, including his debut LP "The Gare Album" that received consistent support and play-time from none other than Jeff Mills.

Lewis Fautzi didn't stop there. Next came releases on Len Faki's Figure, Oscar Mulero's Warm Up Recordings, BPitch Records and regular contributions to PoleGroup, a label that he now calls his home. On top of continuing to release on these esteemed imprints, Fautzi went on to launch his very own Faut Section label, all the while maintaining a busy touring schedule that sees him perform at the world's most respected techno events.

BIO:

In her aspiring career, beginning at age 16, Lindsey Herbert has continued to drift towards the deeper realms of techno, constantly honing her craft as a DJ and getting involved with the thriving scene in San Francisco. Fast-forward to 2020 and Lindsey has truly become a recognized name in her city and beyond, in large part thanks to her unique signature sets — true journeys that explore alternating soundscapes laced together by dark, deep and heavy textures, as well psychedelic elements and ethereal melodies. With tour dates that have brought her to international venues playing beside top name DJs, she is an artist to watch.

Lindsey’s hard work over the years has paid off, gaining her residencies with San Francisco’s Robot Ears for the past five years, as well as earning a spot on the roster of Berlin-based agency, Point Collective. She has played coveted gigs in Detroit, Chicago, Athens, Istanbul, and throughout Germany, as well as her recent debut in the legendary Tresor Berlin and Gate Club in Batumi, Georgia.

Lindsey's debut in the production realm was in September 2018 with a remix of Martyn Päsch's track 'Sacred' on KVLTÖ Records. Her debut solo EP was released in 2019 on LA-based label Ascetic Limited with a remix from Motionen.

Slam (aka Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle) are a tour de force on the global techno circuit. Their unique, six deck, back-to-back DJ performances have seen the duo play leading clubs and festivals across the world. They are renowned for both their experience and their powerful, contemporary sound. 

They are co-owners of Glasgow's Riverside Festival, and also host the legendary Maximum Pressure warehouse parties, which showcase the best emerging local talent alongside some of the most established names in international techno.

Their iconic Soma Records label boasts in excess of 600 releases, hosting Mcmillan and Meikle's own productions and many of today's most cutting-edge techno artists.

The last few years have seen some of the duo's most prolific studio output as they continue to innovate and keep things moving forward, most recently with the release of their experimental full length record Athenæum 101. In addition, Slam have also remixed tracks from the likes of Planetary Assault Systems, Clouds, Dax J, Damon Wild, Richie Hawtin, and Truncate, to name just a few. 

Slam also host one of Techno's most respected weekly podcasts, Slam Radio, which has now surpassed over 400 episodes. The show allows the duo to demonstrate their conviction to creating and promoting music and vibes that provide an antidote to the mainstream by inviting fellow artists from the vibrant Techno scene, from obscure names to current trailblazers.
