Delivering the mix for our thirteenth Spotlight is the Dutch producer and DJ KARAH.

We already had the opportunity to showcase KARAH's sound at our previous talent night, and a mix from this young and talented producer could not stay behind. His ruthless sound delivers uncompromised energy and power to the dancefloor. KARAH is also the founder of @falsiverecords with which he promotes a variety of talented artists worldwide.

Wondercast 055 broadcasts this Sunday and we have Scottish heavyweight Duellist taking control for an hour or proper duty industrial techno.

When considering Edinburgh’s Duellist, the term heavyweight has never been more apt. A man with a firm musical education across multiple genres, he makes energetic and industrial techno his home when producing, DJing and performing live. These talents have firmly established him in the techno community, both as a contributor and a curator.

Taking his sound on the road, Duellist has performed all across Europe and made multiple excursions to Japan, evolving and firming up his sound along the way. His productions have received the support of a host of influential DJs including Slam, Carl Cox and Rebekah, releasing as he has on labels such as Decoy, Scuderia and PLS.uk. Duellist keeps his sound coherent across his output, so expect thundering drums and extreme noise all wrapped up with a firm eye on the dance floor.

As a music producer and DJ, Temudo is part of a new generation of artists whose work relies on the contemporary approach to Techno. His music allies the soul of the genre with a modern methodology, and has the seal of genre defining labels like: Klockworks, Soma, Modularz, MORD, or Warm Up. He is one of the minds behind Hayes and runs his own mastering studio: Tema Mastering.

Emerging from Brooklyn’s vibrant warehouse scene, @djauspex has firmly established himself as a powerhouse in the underground techno community. 
As a tireless organizer deeply embedded in the city’s queer nightlife, he transforms techno into a ritual of power, self-exploration, and spiritual catharsis. His sets are an incantation of dark, throbbing rhythms from the furthest reaches of the solar system that guide listeners on a mesmerizing journey.

Auspex's uncompromising style has caught the attention of international heavyweights, sharing the stage with the likes of Phase Fatale, Randomer, Juan Atkins, and Rebekah. He’s a familiar face at NYC techno staples of yore like Unter, The Black Hole, and The Bunker New York, and has taken his talents from San Francisco to Miami and Washington, D.C. His frequent appearances in Berlin's techno scene have seen him grace legendary parties and clubs, including Staub, Pornceptual. 
This summer, Auspex made his debut at Berghain, further solidifying his presence on the global techno stage. 

In 2018, Auspex launched his party series, Dominion, in response to the growing demand for techno in NYC. The series quickly gained traction, becoming a hotspot for music enthusiasts. His growing profile led to him being invited to play the opening night of Brooklyn’s newest club, Basement, where he established a residency with his conceptual party, ALTÆR, which has hosted an impressive lineup of international talents and created a haven for cathartic dance experiences within the queer community.

Drawing from his background as a classically trained multi-instrumentalist and sound designer, Auspex released his debut production work in early 2019, setting the stage for an impressive catalog of EPs across esteemed labels like Soma Records, Diffuse Reality, Otomo, Mainmise and more. 
His vision culminated in the creation of his own imprint, Oath, where he curates his work with a uniquely personal touch.

Andrew Shobeiri AKA @renewise flaunts an artistic flair rare for his years.

Possessing an uncanny ability to create a sound that fuses hip-shak-ing grooves with a raw but modern touch, Wise breeds a deep sense of knowledge and maturity beyond what you’d expect for an artist of his age. His ear for infectious rhythm derives from a love of classic 90’s era techno, always being drawn to the relentless energy felt in the faster tempos. These influences can be heard throughout his productions and selections as a DJ, winning him a growing fanbase of peers and music lovers alike.

2018 saw the UK-born DJ/producer leaving a strong impression. A dig- ital EP on Mark Broom’s Beardman imprint and his first official 12’ inch release on the highly respected Mote-Evolver, run by techno pioneer Luke Slater, gained huge reactions from the likes of Rødhad, Freddy K, Blawan and DVS1. The high level of support has continued into 2019, with white label tracks featuring in sets from Kr!z & Dustin Zahn, among others.

On the road Wise has made regular appearances at Jaded, London’s Sunday after-hours haven while his Berghain sets have undoubtedly grabbed the attention of the committed Berlin reveler. The remainder of 2019 keeps this young talent busy, with bookings spanning the UK, Europe and, South Africa with more releases set to drop across the next coming months.

Slam (aka Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle) are a tour de force on the global techno circuit. Their unique, six deck, back-to-back DJ performances have seen the duo play leading clubs and festivals across the world. They are renowned for both their experience and their powerful, contemporary sound. 

They are co-owners of Glasgow's Riverside Festival, and also host the legendary Maximum Pressure warehouse parties, which showcase the best emerging local talent alongside some of the most established names in international techno.

Their iconic Soma Records label boasts in excess of 600 releases, hosting Mcmillan and Meikle's own productions and many of today's most cutting-edge techno artists.

The last few years have seen some of the duo's most prolific studio output as they continue to innovate and keep things moving forward, most recently with the release of their experimental full length record Athenæum 101. In addition, Slam have also remixed tracks from the likes of Planetary Assault Systems, Clouds, Dax J, Damon Wild, Richie Hawtin, and Truncate, to name just a few. 

Slam also host one of Techno's most respected weekly podcasts, Slam Radio, which has now surpassed over 400 episodes. The show allows the duo to demonstrate their conviction to creating and promoting music and vibes that provide an antidote to the mainstream by inviting fellow artists from the vibrant Techno scene, from obscure names to current trailblazers.
