This transmission was postponed until Friday 20th so a smooth transition to our new home at Fnoob Techno Radio was implemented, and what a way to kick off in our new abode by with the welcome return of one of the best there is. It's been 5 years since he was on the show and it's definitely about time to get him back on and celebrate moving in with our new techno buddies. It's gonna get even more ruckus from now on in. Since its emergence the project the has been often labelled as „pitch black techno war funk“ (quoted after an early Boomkat review) and closely associated to what later on would be tagged as the „industrial techno“ – movement. This is possibly due to the radical machine aesthetics Ancient Methods has developed into an unmistakable trademark sound, since more than a decade. However the mechanical framework is – no more, no less – a physical ambassador for a deeper content, there is a profound human emotionality enclosed in the rhythmic shell.

Unsere Nummer 53 kommt von Max Muth! 
Der gebürtige Berliner Max Muth treibt sich schon seit Jahren in den Berliner Clubs rum. Für ihn war 
schnell klar, dass er selbst in der Szene aktiv werden möchte.
Max schloss sich mit zwei weiteren Freunden zusammen, um das Techno Kollektiv Somebodies.Child 
zu gründen.
Neben seinen Aufgaben bei Somebodies.Child ist er auch als Resident DJ für das Kollektiv tätig.
Einen eigenen Charakter verleiht Max Muth seinen Sets durch eine gut durchdachte Trackauswahl. 
Sein Stil zeichnet sich hauptsächlich durch treibenden Techno aus, der hin und wieder auch etwas 
melodisch werden kann.
Durch seine langjährige Erfahrung in der Szene hat er Ahnung von nationalen und internationalen 
Talenten und spiegelt dies in der Somebodies.Child Podcast Serie wider, die er managet.

Seit 2013 gehen Rosalie und Vera privat und beruflich zusammen über die bunte Wiese des verrückten Lebens. Vom ersten Moment an machte es Klick. Anfänglich streiften sie noch als Partners in Crime über die berühmt berüchtigten Tanzflächen Berlins, immer in der ersten Reihe und mit dem Beat in ihren Herzen. Doch die Beiden wollten Mehr! Schnell wurde klar, dass ihr Platz nicht vor den Decks sondern dahinter bestimmt war. Kurzerhand wurde das letzte Sternipfand in ihre erste DJ Technik umgewandelt. Schon bald folgte ein wilder Ritt durch die Clubs der Hauptstadt, der Bundesrepublik und die endlose Technofestivallandschaft.
Seit kurzem sind Sie Mitbegründerinnen und Teil des @summa_summarum Kollektiv in Berlin.

INTERVIEW:
1. Wie funktioniert eure Zusammenarbeit als Duo? Hilft es euch ein Paar zu sein oder eher andersrum?

Mehr is Mehr: Im Großen und Ganzen ist es ein Vorteil so eng mit der engsten Vertrauensperson zu arbeiten. Gerade bei Auswärtsgigs ist es schön, diese Erfahrungen teilen zu können und beieinander zu sein. Sicherlich ist es aber auch eine Herausforderung, so viele Lebensbereiche wie wir miteinander zu teilen und es ist wichtig, im guten Austausch bleiben.

3. Wie würdet ihr den typischen Mehr is Mehr Sound beschreiben?

MM: Wir haben es insgesamt nicht so mit Kategorisierungen aber am besten lässt er sich vielleicht so beschreiben:
Techno ohne Monotonität und mit einem verschmitzten Lächeln.

4. Habt ihr auch schlechten Erfahrungen in der Clubszene gemacht und wenn ja, würdet ihr uns davon berichten? (vielleicht auch im Hinblick auf Erfahrungen als weibliches DJ Paar)

MM: Es passiert uns immer wieder, dass Teile unseres Publikums überzeugt sind, dass wir Männer sind. Das schützt uns sicherlich verglichen zu anderen weiblichen* Kolleginnen* vor Sexismus. Wenn das aber doch passiert, haben wir gute Erfahrungen damit gemacht, offen darüber zu sprechen und sind bisher immer auf offene Ohren gestoßen.

5. Was begeistert euch außerhalb von Techno so richtig und von wem oder was seid ihr Fan?

MM: Wir mögen Tierdokus, alles was paniert ist und sind Fans von Empro.

6. Was war die beste Entscheidung in eurer Laufbahn und worauf seid ihr so richtig stolz?

MM: Die beste Entscheidung war und ist uns selber treu zu bleiben, uns immer wieder in Entscheidungsprozessen zu fragen, ob das noch wir sind und in dieser Hinsicht keine faulen Kompromisse zu machen.

Materialising in the dank, unruly pockets of Australia’s warehouse rave scene, Tred now resides deep in Neukölln, Berlin, where he has sharpened a focus on his own narrative of modern club culture, identity and high powered techno weapons.

Cheeky, uncompromising and driven by an unrelenting tempo are common traits of a Tred set. This no bullshit approach has drawn the attention of the provocative Munich based queer collective Bottom Topixxx where he takes up residency. Whether it’s peak time at Säule or a closing set at Tresor, his sets emit restless energy that show little regard for genre definitions, assertively blending any style that he is entertained by. It’s rapid body music with an emotive tinge, all mixed with a flair that celebrates classic rave nostalgia, tribal groove and contemporary dance-floor burners.

A similar style emerges when you look into the growing back catalogue of Tred’s studio productions. Having had selected works pressed across imprints such as Lobster Theremin, 1Ø PILLS MATE, E-Missions, and Amniote Editions, what becomes obvious is his ability to capture the energy of many influences. Head-strong in approach, 2021 will see a number of debut’s further his sonic sensibilities.

SERA J. is a techno music producer and dj from Greece. He was born and raised in Thessaloniki, while he produce music since 2008. Influenced by his favorite artist Jeff Mills his style can be typed as a combination of techno with catchy melodies, acid sounds, powerful baselines and Detroit details. Being a local artist of executive underground projects in his city, he has shared the booth with some of the most talented international & local artists, like Stef Mendesidis, Jonas Kopp, Dax J, Paal (Voitax), Keith Carnal, Setaoc Mass, Paula Temple, Axel Karakasis, JudaƩ, SNTS etc. , something that helped him to expand his knowledge on what he loves the most. With strong and very successful releases, on Out of Place, Adroit, Planet Rhythm he made a bigger step to the music scene while his music has gained massive and diverse support, from artists like Amelie Lens, Richie Hawtin, Dax J, Adam Beyer, Ellen Alien, Insolate, Alien Rain, just to name a few, charting and playing his tracks very often. He also became a resident radio producer on Paranoise Radio, a local web radio, and he holds his own monthly shows as a co-founder. His passion of music is what makes him going up. For him music is a state of mind, interaction, inspiration & creation.

A BIO: 
Arpad Horvat, known as "HORI," has been an active observer of the underground electronic music scene since the  early '90s. As a DJ and promoter, he focuses on the broader picture of electronic music culture, always seeking gaps in the scene to introduce fresh, underground sounds rather than following trends.

Like many electronic music enthusiasts of his generation (1982), his style has been shaped by influential artists such as Kraftwerk, Jean-Michel Jarre, Art of Noise, Tangerine Dream, Giorgio Moroder, Underworld, Prodigy, Juan Atkins, Drexciya, Laurent Garnier, Plastikman, Underground Resistance, Jeff Mills, British Murder Boys, Mike Parker and more. A passionate and highly skilled DJ, he moves effortlessly between turntables and digital decks, often prioritizing the B-side of records.

Having lived in multiple countries, HORI was deeply influenced by the underground scene in London, where he experienced and played across a wide range of styles. As a result, his sound today is not confined to a single genre. 

Currently, he is actively promoting deep, dub, atmospheric and hypnotic events and podcast series under the name nexus in the vibrant electronic music community of Malta and Hungary. He is also gratefully excited to be part of Ozora 2025 Hungary.

Slam (aka Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle) are a tour de force on the global techno circuit. Their unique, six deck, back-to-back DJ performances have seen the duo play leading clubs and festivals across the world. They are renowned for both their experience and their powerful, contemporary sound. 

They are co-owners of Glasgow's Riverside Festival, and also host the legendary Maximum Pressure warehouse parties, which showcase the best emerging local talent alongside some of the most established names in international techno.

Their iconic Soma Records label boasts in excess of 600 releases, hosting Mcmillan and Meikle's own productions and many of today's most cutting-edge techno artists.

The last few years have seen some of the duo's most prolific studio output as they continue to innovate and keep things moving forward, most recently with the release of their experimental full length record Athenæum 101. In addition, Slam have also remixed tracks from the likes of Planetary Assault Systems, Clouds, Dax J, Damon Wild, Richie Hawtin, and Truncate, to name just a few. 

Slam also host one of Techno's most respected weekly podcasts, Slam Radio, which has now surpassed over 400 episodes. The show allows the duo to demonstrate their conviction to creating and promoting music and vibes that provide an antidote to the mainstream by inviting fellow artists from the vibrant Techno scene, from obscure names to current trailblazers.

Just a dude sitting in good ole St. Louis who has been down with house, jungle and techno since the 90's.  Yeah, I got some tenure with the tunes.  I just listen to mixes, and lots of them.  So, please keep making the amazing tunes, I do rock them!
