NDYUKA RHYTHM

With the year 2021 coming to an end, here is my last NDYUKA podcast of the year. This mix is recorded with a rhythmic state of mind. Fast paced as usual but more emphasized to the deeper and sexy grooves. A nice mid day groovy techno set where the simplicity of the rhythmic swing and track selection is the key point of the whole mix.

Through a careful balance of innovation and homage, Regent crafts a sound that seamlessly blends the gritty essence of classic rhythms with the intrigue of fresh, uncharted excursions. From his Berlin roots, Regent carries a deep-seated appreciation for techno's past into his sound, offering a classic sound that is reflective while always remaining seeking.

Behind the decks, Regent is known to traverse the wide spectrum of techno, from tripped-out depths to the raw, unyielding peaks, always leveraging his extensive catalogue of unreleased material to craft unique moments and explorations for the audience. Regent’s approach is one of perpetual curiosity, seeking inspiration from all over to break new ground and enrich his music with diverse influences. Always trying to learn from his surroundings en route, he continues to push conceptual boundaries and further deepen his signature past-meets-future sound with standout mixes & productions.

Sinister humanoid robots with complex, skeletal metal bodys. Their heads are adorned with numerous thick cables and wires cascading down like dreadlocks. They have piercing, glowing pinkish-red eyes. These figures sit with authority on a high-tech, industrial seat. Waiting for the drop.

Slam (aka Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle) are a tour de force on the global techno circuit. Their unique, six deck, back-to-back DJ performances have seen the duo play leading clubs and festivals across the world. They are renowned for both their experience and their powerful, contemporary sound. 

They are co-owners of Glasgow's Riverside Festival, and also host the legendary Maximum Pressure warehouse parties, which showcase the best emerging local talent alongside some of the most established names in international techno.

Their iconic Soma Records label boasts in excess of 600 releases, hosting Mcmillan and Meikle's own productions and many of today's most cutting-edge techno artists.

The last few years have seen some of the duo's most prolific studio output as they continue to innovate and keep things moving forward, most recently with the release of their experimental full length record Athenæum 101. In addition, Slam have also remixed tracks from the likes of Planetary Assault Systems, Clouds, Dax J, Damon Wild, Richie Hawtin, and Truncate, to name just a few. 

Slam also host one of Techno's most respected weekly podcasts, Slam Radio, which has now surpassed over 400 episodes. The show allows the duo to demonstrate their conviction to creating and promoting music and vibes that provide an antidote to the mainstream by inviting fellow artists from the vibrant Techno scene, from obscure names to current trailblazers.
