ARKVS [archives] is a collaboration between dj/producers Wesley Visser and Stefan Meijerink from Rotterdam, who are both dj’ing and making music from late 90’s. They found a shared passion for dark atmospheric and hypnotic electronic music. With their dj-sets they bring a well-balanced sound to clubs, focusing on techno you will lose yourself in. From tight grooves and rhythms to hypnotizing
atmospheres.

With a growing catalog of 12" and digital releases they push forward
their take on electronic music on influential labels Planet Rhythm, TH
Tar Hallow, Pleistocene Future, REVOLT, Muted and DRLD Records.

ARKVS first introduced their textured, atmospheric sound through the track Politics of Greed on the Planet Rhythm label, featured alongside techno heavyweights Yan Cook and TWR72. Shortly after, they delivered Force, a club banger on the same imprint, sharing the EP with icons Matrixxman, Echologist, Ben Buitendijk, and Steve Parker. Their later projects, including the Oppression EP and Texture EP on Planet Rhythm, as well as releases on TH Tar Hallow and Pleistocene Future, highlight the diversity within their sound—ranging from hypnotic, layered textures to dancefloor-focused tracks.

Whether in the studio or behind the decks, ARKVS remains focused on delivering music with depth, groove and energy, rooted in the hypnotic essence of techno while always looking forward.

Stripped-back and highly cerebral, her style sits at the junction of heavily dubbed-out psychedelia, liquid abstraction and post-industrialism, and this mix doesn’t differ. Her focus is on the minute details, the colors, the patterns and textures contained within the music, distinctive traits of an accomplished visual artist in the cosmos of sound.

Her experimental ways of making music are one of a kind, her uncompromising drive to break boundaries and a cross-artistic medium is sure to create an imprint in the world of electronic music.

Stockholm-born DJ, producer and label member Joel Mull has spent over three decades shaping the global techno landscape, being recognised as a key figure in the pioneering wave of Swedish techno artists. Joel is renowned for his versatility, working under multiple aliases: Icarus, Gotzkowsky and most recently, Damm, where he channels his passion for ambient and electronica. As a member and contributor of the Swedish label Parabel, Joel continues to innovate the scene with his emotive and melodic productions. 

Joel’s productions evoke a sense of nostalgia, blending deep, downtempo rolling basslines with ethereal ambient textures and harmonic synths. This mix is driving, uptempo and seamlessly fuses rhythms with intricate synth melodies.

Axel Karakasis is the most recognisable Greek name in the Techno scene. His career is marked by a number of classic themes and a series of appearances that have established him as an international DJ.
 
The rise to his present status did not happen overnight, but goes back to the 80s and the 90s, when Techno made its first appearance. Fascinated by this new wave, Axel’s courtship with electronic music saw a very different light…
 
By the late 90s, he was already known through various DJ residencies in Athens, as well as through his regular events with his team “Bubbles” –to be remembered to this date by many! This was when the techno wiz-kid earned his place among the top Greek DJs and appeared in numerous events in the biggest clubs of the Greek capital! He soon became the most wanted Greek Techno DJ, playing regularly in the biggest venues in Athens, Thessaloniki, Mykonos, Crete and all over his native Greece.
 
 
 
 
Being a restless spirit led Axel to new avenues in music production. He always wanted to play unique music in his sets. That’s what drove him to get into the studio and begin his own productions. In 2000, he had his first release on Pornographic Recordings and this was only the beginning, as a string of classic releases followed in the likes of Intec Records, MB Elektronics, Primate, etc. to establish himself in a genre he referred to as “Groovy Techno”! With his very own mark on discography, Axel’s international career took off. Confirming his status as the most sought after Greek Techno DJ of his time, Axel headlines events in some of the best clubs in the world, such as the Rex Club (Paris), Womb (Tokyo), Turnmills (London), tours regularly countries like Belgium, Colombia, France, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, Korea, Croatia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Holland and Brazil, to name a few, and has appeared in top festivals like Awakenings (Netherlands) Rabac Festival (Croatia), Apokalypsa (Czech Republic), etc.: he keeps exciting crowds all over the world!
 
At present, Axel releases his music in top record labels, like Kombination Research, Planet Rhythm, Tronic and others, whereas his tracks have featured in well known compilations and mix CDs, such as Extreme Euphoria (Ministry of Sound), Cream Ibiza, I Love Techno, and many many more. However, his work wouldn’t be complete without his own imprint! In his first venture, he was the co-founder of Omega Audio Recordings, which received rave reviews and support by top DJs world-wide, as well as being a platform for new talents to see the spotlight. In September 2007, Axel decided to channel all his energy into his very own brainchild, Remain Records, which is gradually transforming into a brand encompassing both vinyl (Remain Records) and digital (Remain Records and Remain Limited) releases by Axel, The Advent & Industrialyzer, Marco Bailey, Cristian Varela, Alexander Kowalski, A.Paul as well as newer talent.
 
Axel’s strong reputation is based on his consistency towards the genre that established him. Always faithful to techno, Axel Karakasis delivers all-fresh, brand-new sounds that evolve. Having earned strong support by clubbers and his peers worldwide, Axel keeps challenging the clubland with his releases and his full of energy DJ sets.

With a career spanning nearly three decades, Alexander Kowalski’s story is a living testament to the legacy of Berlin techno. His journey began in the late 90s amidst the city’s cultural revolution, ignited by the emergence of techno music. Debuting in 1997 under the moniker DisX3 at the legendary club Tresor in Berlin, he quickly established himself as a driving force in shaping the sounds of the era with fast-paced beats and robust bass lines. His impactful live sets also led to releases on the esteemed label of Tresor.

Under the guidance of Heiko Laux’s Kanzleramt label, Kowalski pioneered the melodic and sophisticated sound for which he is renowned—a sound that has become synonymous with German techno. His albums ‘Echoes’, ‘Progress’, and ‘Response’, along with tracks like ‘Speaker Attack,’ ‘Belo Horizonte,’ and ‘All I Got To Know,’ have made significant contributions to the history of techno.

Kowalski’s music productions and live performances have earned widespread acclaim from both dancefloor enthusiasts and discerning music critics alike. His remixes are highly sought after by icons such as Dave Gahan, Joris Voorn, Paul Kalkbrenner and Funk D ́Void. This he balances with a heavy touring schedule, appearing at major festivals including Awakenings, Time Warp, Mayday, Nature One, I Love Techno, Monegros, Aquasella, and many more.

In 2009, he launched his own label, Damage Music, as a platform for his own music and releases from artists he really admires. He has also released music on esteemed platforms such as Be As One, ARTS, Illegal Alien, Tronic, and Arkham Audio. His ‘Cycles’ LP on Mord stands as a testament to his ability to create timeless music, showcasing the enduring relevance and agility of his productions.

As techno continues to evolve, so too does Kowalski’s artistry. He remains at the forefront of modern techno innovation with his principal releases under the name Alexander Kowalski. Additionally, he keeps the analog spirit of 90s techno alive through his DisX3 live and DJ performances, transporting new generations of dancers back to the genre’s golden age.

Slam (aka Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle) are a tour de force on the global techno circuit. Their unique, six deck, back-to-back DJ performances have seen the duo play leading clubs and festivals across the world. They are renowned for both their experience and their powerful, contemporary sound. 

They are co-owners of Glasgow's Riverside Festival, and also host the legendary Maximum Pressure warehouse parties, which showcase the best emerging local talent alongside some of the most established names in international techno.

Their iconic Soma Records label boasts in excess of 600 releases, hosting Mcmillan and Meikle's own productions and many of today's most cutting-edge techno artists.

The last few years have seen some of the duo's most prolific studio output as they continue to innovate and keep things moving forward, most recently with the release of their experimental full length record Athenæum 101. In addition, Slam have also remixed tracks from the likes of Planetary Assault Systems, Clouds, Dax J, Damon Wild, Richie Hawtin, and Truncate, to name just a few. 

Slam also host one of Techno's most respected weekly podcasts, Slam Radio, which has now surpassed over 400 episodes. The show allows the duo to demonstrate their conviction to creating and promoting music and vibes that provide an antidote to the mainstream by inviting fellow artists from the vibrant Techno scene, from obscure names to current trailblazers.
