It was a huge shock and very sad news when Kelli Hand and Paul Johnson both died earlier in August of 2021. They were pioneers and had a huge influence on the whole house and techno scene and not to forget a big inspiration to us, the sound we produce and release.

We are happy to welcome Vietnam born and France raised newcomer NairLess on Slam City Jams. After releases on Radiant Records, Semi Delicious and his own Aurore 404 imprint, the Parisian joins the label with his „First Wave“ EP.

NairLess music is deeply rooted in 90s house music and these tunes are a perfect example for that: „First Wave“ and „Rising Edge“ are a nod to early Progressive House with deep pads, sparkling synths and driving percussive elements. „Space Union“ is a bouncy house tune build around a catchy organ melody from everyones favorite digi synth. To round things off we have rising star Running Hot on remix duties who turns the title track up a notch with lovely rave stabs that will tear up some festival stages this summer.

We welcome Munich-based producer and DJ @nicjalusi to the label. He is part of the Super Sound Global crew, renowned for digging out all kinds of under the radar records, as well as releasing fine edits and OGs on their own imprint.

Following releases on Earth On Earth, Terra Magica, and his own label, we are happy to release „Aqua Dream“, Jalusi’s debut full-length EP.

On „Kickstart“ and „Relax Your Body“ (with SSG homie Pio) Nic chooses his Tech Ryder moniker to channel the good early prog house - with trippy synths, rolling basslines, nicely sprinkled vocal cutz and digidi-dope dub references.

For the following three tracks, Jalusi returns under his own name and rolls nicely below the 110 BPM mark. The title track „Aqua Dream“ is breaky balearic galore with an Italo- house touch, while „Affirmation Dub“ with its dramatic melodies and swingy drums would’ve fit in Weatherhalls „Massive Mellow“ mix back in the days. Finally, „Moments In Life“ is a deep downtempo affair that perfectly wraps up this 5-tracker. A debut record you shouldn’t miss out on!

SCJ014 | Nic Jalusi - Aqua Dream EP [Snippets]

We are thrilled to welcome Amsterdams fast rising DJ and producer BELLA to Slam City Jams with the „Bicycle Bounce“ EP. Following her highly acclaimed debut release on Sally C’s Big Saldo’s Chunkers imprint earlier this year, BELLA brings her signature style to our label with three 90s- inspired high energy house tracks, backed by a stellar Baldo remix.

The EP kicks off with „Wrong Directions“ and „Bicycle Bounce“, two prime-time anthems with bouncy basslines, uplifting chord stabs, sneaky vocal chops and feisty acid lines. On „Orange Elevate“ BELLA maintains the energy, while switching to deep and trippy synths that build to an epic breakdown - one for the late-night hours!

To round things off we have everyones favorite Baldo from Barcelona on remix duty. He does what he does best and transforms „Wrong Direction“ into a ravey piano acid bomb.

Newborn Munich based label Slam City Jams comes around the corner with its first release from young gun Gonima straight outta Montreal, Canada.

His Grids EP? An exciting mixture of swinging distorted drums, catchy melodies and hazy atmospheres. You can definitely spot Gonima's passion for DX7 adventures, analog drums and tape hiss right here. Opener "Grids" starts off with lush synth blips, 707 drums and a bassline Bootsy Collins would give high-fives for.
