William Cartel Presents: Safehaus Sessions Vol. 1

Malibu Cathy has played direct support for James Hype at Schimanski, Opened for Wax Motif in Philly at Noto, among smaller shows around NYC.I always loved listening to electronic music. I started DJing after seeing Rezz at Ultra in 2018, first time I ever saw her play live and lost it. Hearing her say she’s a self taught producer and Dj from watching Youtube tutorials, that changed the course of my life. It put female dj’s on the map for me. I bought decks the next week and started teaching myself while in tandem teaching myself how to produce electronic music. 

It took my a while to find my way into Tech house because I was a bass head for a while (still am). Once I started seeing how tech house music made people feel in a room, I knew I wanted to make that. I’ve released my first tech house style edit earlier this year and my goals are to continue producing tech house, finding my sound and building the Malibu Cathy brand. Dream is to release an EP on either Deep Roots, Repopulate Mars, Techne, Black Book etc. and travel everywhere playing my music.
