Onto our next podcast, this one coming from two members of Liverpool's ZUKU outfit, aptly named 'Dig This'.

Heavy hitters from the off, this one showcases the club-oriented side of their deeply filled record bags!

Comprised of Charleze, Jhobei and Oliver.r, Felon5 is a trio of artists that excel at vibe heavy house. Having been cultivating a tidy brand of club music that steps way outside of the minimal branding. With more than an enthusiastic nod to the house of old their shtick incorporates punchy drums, raucous basslines and tightly woven mixes. They are quite rightly becoming an in demand booking amongst the hottest events around the UK and farther afield.

As well as their booking schedule growing by the weekend their productions are also beginning to grow larger. With their home of Bizarre Traxx being equally high in demand the future is looking very bright for these three artists. With this in mind we are very happy to present a 2 hour + mix from the lads and we are sure they will become a go to for you too.

Ahead of NorthSouth Records’ 5th birthday in Room 2, label co-boss Sam Bangura delivers us a dreamy and pulsating 1.5 hour mix – an apt showcase of the label co-boss’s bold yet sparse signature sound.

Sam’s well on his way up, his debut 12-inch Hullabaloo last year was an edgy take on contemporary tech-house, and more recently his Brainsurfers - HMSB EP with our resident and fellow NorthSouth boss Harry McCanna, arrived to critical acclaim and a warm response reflective of the textural and airy sonics that float through both sides of the release.

“Celebrating 5 years of NorthSouth at fabric is massive for us, it’s the place that the three of us have probably spent more time clubbing than anywhere else, and hosting NorthSouth there has been a dream for us since the label was born. This mix is part of my interpretation of the NorthSouth sound, flowing through a number of styles and moods, hopefully locking the listener into a groove to lose themselves wherever they may be for a chunk of their day…” – Sam

We can’t wait to see what he does in the booth next weekend alongside fellow label heads Harry and Dale Mussington, special guests Oshana (Live) and Digby and fabric mainstays Raresh and Craig Richards.

Stepping up to the plate for this one is an old friend of ours who definitely fits the theme of NorthSouth, it’s the most Northern East Londoner you’ll come across - Georgia! A long time favourite of ours on the dancefloor and OG Hackney Wick’er it gives us great pleasure to be inviting Georgia to join us and she comes with an hour and a half of hypnotic grooves for those hazy summer days!

Singularly Voigtmann and John Dimas have been major players on the underground house and techno scene for some time, with their respective labels Subsequent and Elephant Moon both doing important work for the more electro leaning end of the spectrum. They have of course joined forces with devastating effect and the result is VO1GT.M4S – a back to back that combines both artists’ deadly skills both in the studio and in the DJ booth. This combination has seen key performances from the pair in dual mode and they were teasing new joint material in their sets long before they dropped their double wax LP ‘Internal Transmission’ back in August last year on the pairs newly formed joint label Intermission Records. Back in November 2022, Dyed Soundorom and Gene On Earth performed a stirring 3 hours long back-to-back in our Room 01. Along the way, the two protagonists deliver seamless transitions one after the other. Effortlessly.

Forging a voyage through house and beyond, the recording set is intuitively filled with flickering sounds and stripped-down grooves, as seductive as we like. Sometimes brainy yet made to make you move, it’s not your average artist combo. Nuggin’ it up!

Following a break in our mix series after what can only be described as very a strange year for everyone, we were blown away by this amazing mix of house and techno. Never breaking his groove, @northsouthrecords boss and very much a big part of the Gottwood family after years of service and also recently releasing his track "Fun Dome" on our Gottwax label, @sambangura delivers in a big way!

Explaining his thinking behind the recording, Sam explains "Seeing as we couldn’t enjoy the magic of Gottwood this year I wanted to bring some of it to everyone through this mix. Imagining the sun shining next to the lake as day turns to night, I hope this goes some way to recreating that!"

As we should've been celebrating our 11th birthday right now we have a gift for you all! We're very happy to be able to release a cut from Voigt.Mas's set from our massive 10th Birthday. The boys absolutely rocked it that night alongside the rest of the lineup and we can now all relive just a part of that madness! An honest account of a hazy, amazing night. For those that weren't there, whilst the recording cannot capture the full magic of the night and that set, it's very safe to say that room went off! Enjoy!

Head of NorthSouth Records and resident DJ at Half Baked, Sam has been an ever growing force on the London scene playing alongside the likes of Francesco Del Garda, Jane Fitz and Samuel Deep and continued to evolve in 2020 with a much acclaimed production debut.
