The Austrian born artist Alpha Tracks will be kicking off the very first release of Slash with 2 original tracks and remixes from Format (aka Orlando Voorn) and Slash founder KI/KI. Previous releases on BPitch, Blue Hour and Morbid were already a showcase of pure craftsmanship by Alpha Tracks, now on Slash he’s showing his consistency yet again, delivering high quality as always. With a love for analog hardware sound, the producer turns fast paced bangers, with a bit of imagination, into beautiful subtle techno ballads. Always with their own story to tell, while never losing his focus on the drive and ready to bring audiences around the globe into a trance.

Orlando Voorn’s alias Format keeps the energy high with but smooths out the ride for the remix of the original, where bumpy synths bubble and echo, keeping you interested until the very last second. 

Remixing the last track is label owner KI/KI unleashing her first music into the world. Her remix are inspired by '90s rave memories which she never got to experience. Creating a completely different atmosphere with bubbly off beat bass, anthemic arps and a clever use of arrangement making this a standout remix.

Following up on a standout inaugural EP by Alpha Tracks, KI/KI’s slash imprint now presents a mighty 8-track compilation of propulsive trance, split over two equally potent parts. The compilation contains a selection of dancefloor favourites curated by KI/KI herself that have been intensively road tested during her gigs in the past year.
 
Opening slash002, Copenhagen’s Peachlyfe delivers a deviously ambient interlude. Rising into a transcendent crux, 'Sane & Awake’ flirts with breakbeat’s signature percussive style, teasing a drop, before taking a U-turn, panning out into evermore blissful peaks. Full of bounce, DJ Lucid brings the build with ‘Entry Plug’, drawing together dramatic strings and a pounding kick drum, while Narciss expertly splices up a haunting vocal fragment on ‘Once More With Feeling.’ Geared towards festival stages – huge crowds and height-of-the-night summer climaxes – the record takes its cues from the hedonism of the 1990s, delivering a powerful punch that's anything but backward facing. DJ Car Keys, part of Dutch-pop sensation Goldband, makes a special appearance in his debut as a solo producer. Closing the B-side, ’Spinning’ is a 155-bpm belter, where a looped hit-hat collides with psychedelic spoken word passages.
 
slash003 turns more introspective, recalling darkened, brooding club basements. Launching off, DJ Hyperdrive more than lives up to his namesake. ’Starburst’ rockets at light speed, its space-age momentum conjuring a retrofuturist fantasy. Amour Noir’s ’Sunday Morning’ is a love letter to dance floors, its choral-style vocal and gliding synth alluding to the reverence of liturgical music. Tbilisi’s Bassiani resident Newa transposes a wiggy acid bassline onto a steely techno pulse, then for ‘Astral Recall’ (one of KI/KI’s most played songs of 2022) Arman John partners a driving beat with a lucid melody, crafting a hybrid flex that melds genres and moods seamlessly. Plunging into darkness before emerging into sunlit euphoria, slash003 channels a vital feature of every masterful DJ set – the emotional journey of contrasting styles and atmospheres, set in motion by adrenaline-fuelled beats.

Finally, two years later she found the right time and place for it and it's getting a well deserved release on her fast growing slash label.

On slash004 KI/KI reworks the original in three different ways. The original perfectly shows where KI/KI flourishes at the moment, it's a fast-paced high energy dancefloor anthem with a nostalgic deep trance drift using her own vocals incorporated in hypnotic loops. For the reworks on the b-side she stripped down the original into two new versions. Where 'To the vibe (rework)' highlights a subtle twinkle that illuminates the beauty of melodies, 'Leave it to the drums' could be seen as the dub version capturing an impeccable energy that represents the late night, strobo heavy warehouse energy where KI/KI finds her comfort zone.

And that's exactly the sweet spot where he meets KI/KI and her slash imprint. After playing the Camelo's demo inside-out around the world a full release is now finally formed. A full pack backed with another original Eskorbuto — which feels like a future classic uplifting trance drifter — and three remixes another chapter on slash is there.

For the remixes KI/KI and Vilchezz invited Oslo based trance producer and UTE.REC label co-owner Filip Storsveen aka Oprofessionell. He turns Camelo's into a magnificent introvert eyes closed club weapon. Where Glasgow's Animal Farm resident AISHA comes in fierce with a powerful early 00's twist combined with an impeccable psy drive. And to finalize the pack, fast rising star CAIVA reworked Eskorbuto by adding her own vocals to the original and by doing so she adds an impressive, emotive festival banger to a well rounded set of modern trance gems.

KI/KI’s slash label takes a deep dive into the history of hard trance and proudly presents a first re-issue of a true classic and personal favorite ‘Emerald’ by Swiss production group Artemis. Originally released back in 1995 on the Swiss label Atoom Records, it’s one of the most sought after gems from this era. At its fast pace of 180 bpm it’s impressive how subtle and dreamy the 9 minute journey is, a truly unique piece of hard trance history. Next on KI/KI's slash imprint is DINA (@dinakhashan). The Berlin-based DJ and producer and co-founder of Nachtcrew has been a very welcomed guest on KI/KI's all nighter party in Amsterdam's Lo-fi which resulted in a close friendship and ultimately an exciting label debut on slash.

Her sounds could be described as etheral trance, it's fast paced, yet emotive and very functional. And for slash007 she brings nothing less. Four tracks of dreamy escapism into the long nights. It's an impressive combination of immersive basslines transforming into huge amounts of dancefloor euphoria.

DINA - Shadowlands

Inspired by the uplifting trance sounds of the early 2000s, dogheadsurigeri fuses nostalgic energy with a modern edge, creating a hybrid sound that draws from both the vibrant underground club scene and the iconic trance anthems of Tiësto, Paul van Dyk, Mauro Picotto, and Armin van Buuren.

Her latest release, ‘Silver Current’, marks the second offering on KI/KI's sub-label, club slash. The EP blends late-90s trance nostalgia with boundary-pushing elements, featuring angelic vocals and a driving bassline that echoes the sound of her early inspirations. Across four tracks, she offers a fresh take on the genre, while retaining the emotional depth that made the classics unforgettable.

Named one of Mixmag's 'Artists to Watch 2025' and featured in their '25 Best Tracks of 2024', dogheadsurigeri is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with in the dance music scene. ’Silver Current’ is a testament to her ability to merge past and present, capturing the essence of trance while pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the genre.

Kicking off club slash, we are thrilled to have Portex taking us to the darker corners of the label. Expect high energy techno, trance and acid throughout four banging and rave-focused tracks. If you’ve been to a recent KI/KI show, you would have heard at least one of these energetic Portex productions.
