I wrote this in hope of sending it off to someone like Taylor Swift. It was one of those 'Got this great Pop songs and wouldn't it be great if someone like Taylor would sing it!' things, so I wrote the lyrics from a girl's point-of-view. I'm very proud of this tune. I had it written, arranged and recorded in 2-days. Very quick song.

This one was a funny one. I was on the train on my way home from work, there was an electric storm outside and they announced they weren't sure how long before we could get underway. So, I started writing on my mobile phone sketch pad. The lyrics "don't take ride from strangers" came from meeting a young Japanese girl who was about to be fooled into jumping in a car with some dick-head smart ass who wanted to take advantage of her vulnerability. I told her not to do it and I told the guy he'd better leave if he wanted to hang on to his testicles. HA!

This is the biggest composition I have undertaken so far. "The City Man" was originally written and recorded as part of my Composition and Music Production assessmnent at the Australian Institute of music. The composition tells a story of a modern day man, who needs to choose between saving his marriage and accepting a lucrative promotion at work. The song has various musical segments, each representing the events that unfold throughout the course of the central character's day.

This song is about God. Even though the lyrics carry a strong message, it is not a Christian song. This song is about my relationship with God.

Hello, world. I'm SLAV. I've been making music since I was about 9-years-old, so it's been a while since I'm in my 40s now and still doing it. First and foremost, I do it because I always loved music, whether I'm listening to it, performing it or playing it. I never set out to be a 'STAR'. It's great and all that, but it takes a lot out of you and there's a big price you have to pay to become famous. I make music because it's what I do and I love the art of songwriting, playing, singing, producing, recording and even mixing. I love putting all the elements together to create an original piece of music. All the music I put up here is mine from start to finish. I do not follow the 'forumula'. Instead I make the kind of music I want to make, to express myself and to satisfy the beauty of the muse. Music to me has so many dimensions and connections with the universe that I feel compelled to create to go beyond the predictable 'Become Famous' path. I simply couldn't go down that path because it's fraught with too many traps and limitations. Fulfilling any expectations of what you may think people out there 'want to hear' is pointless to say the least. I have always believed and always will believe that an artist creates and the fun part is taking that leap of faith to see how it will connect with people, it's the ultimate confidence in revealing your vulnerability as an artist and as a being. It truly fulfills your purpose. I was one of the lucky few to have found that connection and as a result I am truly happy exactly where I am.
