Dare is a song about loving someone who is not good for you. Someone who messes with your mind, body and soul, someone who manipulates and is wonderful one minute and calling you a total train wreck the next. The Dare part? Is a dare to leave, a dare to be alone.

Dare is my song journey that has unfolded over 20 years. It was written, recorded in the early 2000’s as a doof doof dance track with that 90’s flair (sigh – think, Kylie Minogue, I Should Be So Lucky – no you can’t have a copy). It was never my favourite tune. But…. 20 years later, Dare has had a major facelift, a total re-write and now that I am a budding producer, I took over the arrangement. This version is the one that not only reflects exactly how I wanted it to sound in the first place – but better. This is the version that resonates with me, and I hope it resonates with you!

My Very Own Brother

It's about catching a wave of deja vu and realizing that life is much richer and greater than what's on the surface.  
Once, I was looking out of my window while feeling pressured and exhausted. The glimpse of past memories took me away for a second, and once it was gone, instead of returning to the stuff that was bothering me, I took my acoustic guitar and came up with the intro. In the next few days, all the music and the lyrics were ready. I hope that I was able to convey that vibe, the urge to prolong the deja vu feeling, and the joy that decision may bring along, revealing the true life that's around the corner.

"Once Familiar Friend" is about Ray's experiences with friendship and rejection during adolescence. The song explores a friendship that dramatically impacted his understanding of relationships. Ray describes it as a song about the shame, embarrassment, and rejection he felt during a particular moment in a friendship. This experience profoundly affected his ability to understand romantic interest and interpersonal connections. It's part of his forthcoming album's exploration of adolescent experiences and the emotional complexities of growing up, examining how early social interactions can shape one's perception of relationships and self-worth.

'The Wizard' Mika Olson returns to the label for our 150th release and his latest hit single 'What I Need' Featuring the awesome vocals of Dutch Singer/Songwriter/Artist 'Jermaine Fleur'.

Together, they've created a timeless piece of art that crosses boundaries, bends genres and breaks the rules. Deep, passionate, heartfelt, sophisticated and made with lots of love and a whole lot of technical and studio knowledge. 

Mika re-writes the infamous riff from Toto's 'Africa' and owns it like a boss. His attention to detail and engineering qualities are second to none. He surgically adds sounds, instruments and layers to highlight special moments, provoke emotions and stimulate feelings.

On remix duties, we're really excited to welcome Soul Minority and Robot Needs Oil to the label's artist family as well as the return of our veteran tribe member Stan Kolev.
