These four tracks have been in the making for well over a year; a year spent revisiting, reviving, and reinvigorating them with much love and care. These are some of my most emotional works, focusing more on the flow of tension and release rather than on technicality or pure experimentation.

The word “visceral” references deep emotion and intuition, in contrast to logic or reason. Placed next to “planet” in the title of this work, it exemplifies our Earth’s tendency to act intuitively and express its innermost fire. Its creatures are driven by instinct and are fueled by palpable, deep-rooted feeling.

~ The dream state is a part of consciousness in which we can experience emotion, often without limitations imposed by logic. “Dewdrop” is a nod to a song by Cocteau Twins, whose music reverberates through the depths of my own dreams, and whose ethereal influence is felt subtly throughout this body of work. Likewise, we are able to manifest these dreams into waking life and orchestrate our own soundtrack.

~ The title track is a convergence of our planet’s elemental emotions: its nurturing soil, mournful winds, cleansing rain, and eruptions of fire. It lives through these with vehemence, and vulnerability; both polarities are expressed in this track.

~ Our reality is built upon the fundamental fabric of space-time, which itself is not concrete, but flows, warps, and wobbles in a dance with the masses of our Universe. Earth’s mere existence creates a distortion in the geometry of this fabric.

~ Our planet rides along the grooves of the sun’s distortions. Sunlight begets all life on our planet, and is our source of light and warmth. This final track encapsulates the sparkling radiance of our star and the way its heat blankets us, and how it creates an impression on us both physically and emotionally.

This album is a collection of tracks created between 2019 and 2022 that have never seen the light of day, mostly due to indecision with release plans, and also their varying statuses of incompletion. These are, at least, finished enough for me to have played them in live sets. Additionally I feel the designation of “finished” is highly elusive, especially in this realm of experimental music where a single piece of art could theoretically be worked on across an entire lifetime.

But at this point, I feel the sound design and mixing clarity are not at my current level, so it makes chronological sense for these to be released first before my newer creations. They act, like every creation, as a time capsule of my sonic explorations of that time.

I would now like to uncover them and let them scurry off into the world, and dance upon whichever audio playback systems they please. Thank you for helping these tracks gain freedom and mobility across the planet.

This collaboration has been in discussion for several years, and it is fitting for his piece to visually represent this album, as conceptually they are parallel. Of course, with psychedelic music, there are overtones of extraterrestrial communication. So for the temporal setting of 2025 to be the release year of these tunes is fitting, as this current time is seeing those things being brought to light in our global society.

Sodapop Sizzler VIP

Imagine you are a meteor. 

You’re mingling among the stars, drifting through the cold, dark vacuum of space. However, your trajectory is set for planet Earth, and contact is imminent.

You begin to feel warm, and then suddenly very hot. You enter the atmosphere and catch fire, now blazing through the sky towards the ocean at terminal velocity. You brace for impact and crash into the surface, transferring much of your kinetic energy into huge waves that ripple outwards for miles.

Immediately underwater, it’s peaceful, for a short while. But as you descend into the darker depths of the sea, you encounter the chaotic, alien scenes of unknown creatures that inhabit it - strange lifeforms that slither and pulse and wobble across your field of vision and off into the abyss. 

As you drift deeper and deeper, the electric sparks and bioluminescent glows become fewer and further between. You approach a familiar cold darkness that reminds you of your origins beyond the boundary of this planetary bubble; a kind of space, indeed, now aquatic rather than cosmic.

And you can’t help but wonder… did anyone else come along for the ride?

Rarely do the working titles of tunes end up being the final title, but this is one such case. It's intended to be onomatopoeic, but I suppose you can draw your own abstract meaning.

This one has been in the vault since late 2021, and while I am currently creating new material, I feel that sharing the contents of the vault with you all first will help crescendo towards more recent work.

The process of creating music and sharing it with the world, and people actually listening to it and engaging with it, is still such an ethereal experience for me. So grateful for what has come from this humble endeavor thus far, and excited for what is to come. Thank you for being part of the journey.

Panda On The Bamboo Tree & Slaycub - Spinning The Cosmic Odometer

A warp bubble is, in theoretical space travel, a region of flat space created by a wave in the geometry of spacetime, which compresses in front of the spacecraft and expands behind it. This allows for superluminal (faster than light) interstellar flight through space while maintaining the spacecraft in an inertial reference frame within the bubble, which experiences no relative acceleration, as it is the bubble itself rippling through space.

2022. Working title “divpop experiment”. Features samples of Terence McKenna on the topic of novelty, and its role as the driving force of mankind. The title refers to the eschaton (i.e. the end of time) as creating turbulence in our current lives as we careen forwards on an ever-complexifying path. This is an attempt to sonically represent that, and as a result it is a glitchy mess of noise at times.

It was first written over Christmas break, and eventually became my semester-long project at school, which opened the opportunities to record acoustic percussion as well as a live string quartet; the school brought 4 members of the Florida Orchestra to campus and each student recorded them as part of their own projects. I used the recordings in this track, and it brought the song to a higher level. Very thankful for the opportunities I was provided.

This track is over a year old, but I did a few touch-ups recently and wanted it to share it with you. It's heavily reggae-inspired and has some old-school wobbles in it, enjoy :)

The vocal samples are from an interview with Jamaican reggae artist Runkus and his father, Determine (whose voice I used). His message is of staying positive, loving people, and loving music.
