Dubbed the "ghetto-father of the American dance floor" by Underbeat London and Chicago's ghetto house champion by Leor Galil in the Chicago Reader, DJ Slugo is a dance music pioneer, with three decades under his belt producing, DJing and perfecting the ghetto house sound that he helped create.

Never letting up since he emerged on the Southside of the city more than 30 years ago, Slugo most recently remixed the track "Chicago" for DRAMA and Ana Morgan's "Pop That" on NYC's Worst Behavior.

We did a video feature with Slugo for 5 Mag's fifth anniversary, but we've never done a mix before. We're honored to celebrate him here as the featured DJ in this issue for 5 Mag's issue 218 cover mix.

Canadian producer/DJ @JacquesGreene presents a mix to celebrate his euphoric debut album Feel Infinite, beginning with a clip ripped from YouTube that shows people spilling out of Nasa, a rave at New York club Shelter in March 1993. The musician then goes in with ambient tracks, b-sides that didn’t made the album cut, and an "accidental ballroom beat" from Michael Mann’s film Heat.
