I want to give a huge thanks to Anh @yunganh , Jonathan @tregsmusic  , Sam @imgoldwater and Ezra @swll for helping me make this thing. This project has sucked the life out of me and I'm glad that I can finally release this now. I guess the whole point behind this project was to compile some songs that describe my musical tastes and ideas, but i think also to give the listener a grasp of some sentiments that I wouldn't really be able to explain to anyone face to face.  Hopefully this relatively big EP will please your earholes but also your heart, as cheesy as it sounds, haha peace yo i love you all.

After a brief wait between releases, UK-based deep house label @secret-reels is back with a new record. The imprint bears a sound that is often both bittersweet and pensive -- a shout to the aesthetic of the now defunct Purple Velvet -- and has a serious nose, err, ear for talent. Bordeaux producer Leon Revol (@leonidmusique) is at the helm for SR007, after showing promise with releases on the likes of Pressed for Time and Monologues. It's a five track EP (four originals and a remix) - aptly named Astral Plane - that delves into flavors of the cosmic variety.

The A1 slot is occupied by "Far With A Van", which our friends at Sleazy Beats gave us a peek into a short time ago. It's an airy and smooth jam, layered with synths, perfectly tuned drums and smart samples. The title track, "Astral Plane" accompanies it on the art-side, in all its dusty, spacey glory.

On the flip comes our premiere - Bolting Bits favorite Admin's remix of "Far With A Van". The Bristolian beatsmith managed to find the sample used in the original mix (or something in the exact same key and vein), flipping it into a warm, organic version. Thick and crackly drums hold up the track as melancholy strums and angelic horns adorn the arrangement above a bouncing bassline. Ultimately, the track builds to a nicely executed climax; all samples smartly cued and positioned.  It's a deft re-imagination of the perfectly delicious original take, and repurposes the cut for more sombre, late hours play.

Rounding out the B are "St. James" and "Outside", two heady synth-led deep house groovers that nicely continue the vibe of the effort. Followers of Secret Reels and their polished deep house sound will not be disappointed by this 12" in the slightest. Moreover, young Leon has displayed some serious skill here and will surely be a name to watch in the near future.

Drawing samples from library music, dub, soul and R&B, this record delivers everything House Music has to, deepness, groove, love and sincerity. No need to say that by launching a new imprint Ethyène decided to show a different side from his previous work. We can definitely feel it from the first second the record starts, with Static, mashing up samples from 80's dub music and west-coast funk to finally sound as a surprising modernized classic house anthem. The second track of the record 'Enove Lough' features a deconstructed and mysterious Rhodes loop delivering a smart groove until a delightful sexy vocal sample get in the mix to round off this deeper but easily danceable cut. The B-side of the record starts with 'Cape Town Mambo', a tune whose graceful horns loop keeps the listeners on an endless dreamy trip while its mid-tempo jazzy beat will have them hips sensually shaking without any doubt. The record has its consistency assured with ending on a 100 BPM powerful hip-hop beat with high-pitched and happy vocals as the Nirvana of this 4 tracks sensual and groovy journey.

Salin Records proudly presents Sable Blancs debut album „Homecoming“. Each Salin Records release is about telling a story and taking you on a journey. The day Sable Blanc told us about the idea of producing an EP based on the memories of a trip to New York City he made with three close friends in the summer of 2018 we instantly fell in love with this idea. After a few months of intense work, it became an LP - Sable Blanc‘s debut album and also a debut for Salin Records as this is the first album for the label. Inspired by the beautiful colours, outstanding energy and peace all around New York City that specific summer, Sable Blanc produced „Homecoming“. Every track on the album is about memories and friendship. For two reasons it felt like coming home for him. He lived a few years in the US and went to high school there. It was amazing to come back and finally meet a very close friend again. Sable Blanc chose a photo for each track - taken by his friend Adrien Philibert - which connects to the moment that inspired the track. Daria Salin developed the photos using the cyanotype, an analogue photo development process that was also used for the cover background. Together with the stories that Sable Blanc tells about each photo, the cyanotypes build an artistic booklet that is a special feature of the album. Homecoming is an album for a quiet, cosy evening, where you sit back in your favourite chair and hold the booklet in your hand to follow Sable Blanc and his friends on their trip to New York City.
