The Wolves Were At The Door Last Summer

A lofi folk song inspired by vintage, 70s folk rock and psychedelic rock, as well as krautrock with the use of a rigid analog drum machine. Recorded 100% on analog tape, the process of which you can watch on the Sleeping Orchard YouTube channel.
The lyrics are in keeping with other Sleeping Orchard songs, introspective, sombre but also sarcastically playful.

Fade To Grey

Sleeping Orchard blends dreamlike escapism and psychedelic experimentation with a deeply human and earthy folk style. The project is often compared to the likes of Cat Stevens, Leonard Cohen and Lou Reed on the one hand, and to early Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Velvet Underground and even elements of The Grateful Dead on the other.

Rooted in second-hand instruments and recording equipment from various marketplaces and car boot sales, most notably the £4 acoustic guitar and cassette recorder that feature heavily on the Sleeping Orchard YouTube channel, the songs carry a quiet weight - earthy, considered and dreamlike with a mix of poetic lyrical imagery and observational cynicism.
