Drumcode continues its commitment to releasing the scene’s most cutting-edge techno. With releases this year already from Adam Beyer, Pig&Dan, Alan Fitzpatrick, Dense & Pika and Julian Jeweil, this July see’s the return of Enrico Sangiuliano with ‘Astral Projection’.

After his remix of Moby’s of ‘Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad’ back in November last year, Enrico sought creative inspiration from his travels, transcending that into his productions and long studio sessions during the winter months. The result brings a mind and body melting release from the Italian producer.

The title track ‘Astral Projection’ is a captivating, big room techno masterpiece. Deep reverberations punch alongside a sinisterly crisp percussive drive. Launching into a groove laden synth modulation of low end textures, it breaks down into an ethereal amalgamation of pads and synths before the vocal launches, taking this track to another level.

‘Blooming Era’ has destructive dancefloor intent. There is no holding back with the low end synth modulation which Enrico has mastered to perfection. A tightly woven percussive flare moulds flawlessly with the rolling oscillations of the beast of this track.

If you have seen label head honcho Adam Beyer playing anywhere on the globe in the last 5 months, this has been a peak time favourite. Road-tested to the max, and with much success.

Drumcode has become a label synonymous with some of the most-cutting edge and forward-thinking techno over the last 20 years. Their artists include both emerging and established names, and one of those well recognised is Enrico Sangiuliano. Now announcing the very first concept album of his career.

The prolific Italian producer has been catapulted into the limelight after the runaway success of his past releases, and now Biomorph is born. 

A very special concept album designed to take the listener on a journey of evolution. A musical adaptation describing how biological and technological advances over numerous generations of time have all started from the same first step in our own biological journey.

Divided into 4 parts, Organisms opens with atmospheric tones, gradually blending complex textures and timbres to begin the evolutional process. The beginning of this section combines full sounding arrangements before stripping it all back to basics. From here it dissolves into the atmosphere. Organisms then progresses into a break-beat influenced, down tempo track using synths to add complexity to the straight, broken rhythms.

Galactic, futuristic elements are found in both tracks in Cosmic Forces. Upbeat, groovy, electronic synths resonate, before ‘Hidden T’ brings the tension to get things pumped up with stratospheric swirls and twirls to lay down one of the most mind meltingly deep drops.

Metamorphosis is mysterious, its opening beat is a deep and piercing tone that sends the listener into a sensory awareness of their surroundings before breaking into a fully charged, techno track, with Enrico’s trademark sounds and textures.

All evolution has an ending.

Two Probabilities shows the positive, starting out evocative and emotional, with a gentle harmony, gazing towards a ‘New Dawn’. On the other side of the spectrum lies the negative. This is influenced with a rhythm that articulates the beat of death, mathematical, cold and metallic in texture, it shows the unsustainability of its nature, with a hectic, anxious break beat influenced ending.

Closing Set from Holger Nielson recorded live Ragnarøk Labelnight Ritter Butzke 7th of July.
Holger Nielson, born in the South of Germany, living in Berlin since ages is a Techno DJ who began his career in the first days of techno in Berlin. 
With his last Alter Ego Holgi Star and his Label Kiddaz.fm he had worldwide success and was touring through all over the world. Brazil and Southamerica, Japan, Europe, Russia, Ukraine. There are few places in the world he did not play. Some years ago he felt that its time for somethng new and he decided to restart his career with a new pure Techno Name and Holger Nielson was born. 
Since this decision lots of things happened, with his DJ collegue deKai he created the techno Label Ragnarøk to serve techno in a dark style but with a dance attitude. Ragnarøk is running very well with huge Labelnights in Berlin and rest of germany. Beside this project he run the Label and Agency District4 with his old partner DJ Emerson a project what shows another side of techno featuring acts like Thomas Hoffknecht, Aleja Sanchez, Deas to name a few. 
Both influences together symbolize the actual Techno Sound from Holger, a great melange of straight "four to the floor" techno in which you hear and feel his long experiences and his development in 20 Years of beeing always straight in the middle of techno movement.
Holger Nielson is Techno and Techno is Holger Nielson, so let´s start to dance :)
