Philippa Pacho is back on Bassiani airwaves for Podcast 178. The dynamic artist behind positivesource and STHLM Murder Girls knows a thing or two about setting a crowd in motion. Her shapeshifting beats and unmatched energy fast making her a household name far outside her native Sweden and more recent Berlin base. Her residency at Stockholm mainstay Under Bron is about a decade old, but there’s not even so much as a suggestion of hesitancy or weariness in her work, carrying a passion that’s infectious, and as palpable in a club as it is on screen (check out her recent sets on Hör). Her Techno really is powerful stuff, a sustained sonic onslaught, an unyielding beast, hulking and formidable but also smart. For many DJs whose sound is so heavily reliant on bass to carry forth their message, a slip into monotony wouldn’t be entirely unpredictable, but Philippa’s cunning use of supporting effects and melody keeps even a 6 hour journey like this one interesting from start to finish. This up and coming doyenne of loop Techno really is a force like no other.

Psychotherapist by day, mind-hacker by night, here comes Leipzig’s Vincent Neumann with two hours of widely versatile techno and electronics. All in jagged dynamics and hi-NRG propulsion, Neumann’s mix is an ode to old-school raving, back when the DJ’s name was of no importance but the flow of the music itself was all that mattered, or when the true spirit of techno rhymed with riotous communion and a new horizon of possibilities, not some ultra fast-fashion side issue. The Hunab Ku crew is excited to present the first LIVE SET from their "mad member to show his power! Enjoy!! KAWAAAA BOOOOOOONGAA!!" Born in Lugano, Switzerland, Jakopo Zanini, aka J-Ack, began DJing at 16 (2008) at small amateur parties in the Ticino woods with his Psy Prog project. By 18, seeking growth beyond Ticino, he joined Creative Jungle Records in Milan, playing alongside artists like Yatzee, Biomekaniks, and Brainstalker. Over the next 13 years, he shared stages with renowned names like Ace Ventura, Cosmosis, and Rinkadink, performing at top festivals, including Psy-Fi in 2015.  In 2019, Jakopo launched his production project, KAWABOONGA, and co-founded Padma Renaissance Tribe with friends Fabio Arreghini (Mindwhell) and Ferdinando Quero (Masterkaos), organizing events and working as an audio and lighting technician. Their efforts brought top-tier artists like U-Recken and Avalon to Ticino, furthering Jakopo’s passion for music and event creation.  In 2023, KAWABOONGA debuted at multiple Italian festivals and a Tunisian event, where Jakopo joined Hunab Ku Records as a live artist. He also signed with Pulsonique Records and Merkaba Crew, the latter hosting him at Taurus/Atlas Connection Festival.  Jakopo continues to pursue his dream, producing his signature "Hitech non-Hitech" music at 180 BPM and collaborating with artists like Dayalix, Bipolar, and SwoopaLoops.

Embracing the Idea of techno as a means of transcending our condition, both as conscious and subconscious beings, this series offers a platform for artists to express themselves with enhanced scope and purpose. For this second installment which will take place on 5 June, RYC invites a trio of musicians who’ve been pushing the envelope of techno and electronics to a broader extent. A name synonymous with bold dynamics and cutting-edge approach, London-based producer Jin Synth will take us on a mind-bending ride down her intricate rhythmic algebra and layers of hypnotic, otherworldly sonics. A jack-of-all-trades whose hybrid, unhindered vision for music has driven to all ends of the techno spectrum, the one and only DJ Pete will join us for a hectic parade of breaks-laden, bass-heavy weapons and dubbed-out tangents. Chief explorer of lushly textured folds and immersive cinematic arcs, dub techno maestro Magna Pia will take over the decks for one of those moments on the dance floor when functional innovation fuses with multi-sensory exaltation.
