"Herman" is the sixth preview single from Sleepy Seahorse's forthcoming "Frienditions." 

Originally recorded by Sleepy Seeds (Sleepy Seahorse frontman Joey Corsentino's other band) and written by Marty Chase Martin, "Herman" is one of nine tracks on the full-length covers album featuring songs originally written and performed by Idaho-based musicians. "Frienditions" will be released Friday, May 13. 

Corsentino on "Herman": 

"Marty Chase Martin is my best friend. If we were brothers, we wouldn't be as close. I've been lucky to have known him for over 20 years now, and for most of that time we've been playing music together. We moved to Idaho and formed Sleepy Seeds together, and Marty's one-of-a-kind guitar style was the band's signature. He's the most honest, kind and humble guy you'll ever meet, and if the world ever caught up to Marty's guitar wizardry, he'd be famous. 

"During Sleepy Seeds' run, Marty, Brett and I often talked about playing a show where we'd all sing each other's songs. The show never happened, but this cover of 'Herman' was done with that spirit. Marty wrote the song about an orange cat that hung out around the house we rented when we first moved to Boise. Herman was the neighbor's cat, but he pretty much made his residence outside Marty's bedroom window. Recording this version was fun because it allowed me to reminisce about the cat, the house and the times we had when we were new to town and everything was fun and exciting."
