Na początku 2023 roku, reżyser teledysków i reklam, Keith Schofield zamieścił w sieci serię grafik rzekomo pochodzących z zapomnianego filmu Davida Cronenberga pt. "Galaxy Of Flesh".

Produkcję będącą body horrorem rozgrywającym się w komosie datował na rok 1985. Obraz nigdy jednak nie powstał, zaś spreparowane kadry Schofield wykreował za pomocą programu
o nazwie Midjourney.

Zarówno pomysł jak i jego realizację przyjęliśmy z dużym entuzjazmem (zgoła inaczej niż Cronenbergowi ultrasi :) ). Co więcej, postanowiliśmy urealnić ten projekt naszą własną oprawą muzyczną.

Tak powstał soundtrack do "Galaxy Of Flesh". Oscylujący wokół oldschoolowej elektroniki i synthowych melodii. Pełen połamanych rytmów i zimnych brzmień. Inspirowany konkretnymi grafikami ze zbioru Schofielda.

In early 2023, music video and commercial director Keith Schofield posted a series of images allegedly from David Cronenberg's forgotten film, "Galaxy Of Flesh".

The production, which is a body horror set in a cosmic space, dates back to 1985. However, the picture was never made, and Schofield created the prepared frames using a program called Midjourney.

We accepted both the idea and its implementation with great enthusiasm (quite unlike Cronenberg's ultras :) ). What's more, we decided to make this project real with our own music
.
This is how the soundtrack to "Galaxy Of Flesh" was created. Oscillating around old school electronics and synth melodies. Full of broken rhythms and cold sounds. Inspired by specific graphics from the Schofield collection.

Dis Fig's (@dis_fig) debut LP, 'PURGE', out March 15, 2019 on PTP cassette and digital editions. 

'PURGE' is the debut album by Dis Fig. While the New Jersey born, Berlin-based artist is best known for her relentless and downright brutal DJ sets, this work comes in at a much different trajectory – an exploration of her own vulnerability through varying degrees of noise, vocal migrations, and orchestral composition. 

“'PURGE' is about confronting the feelings which you have been avoiding. Consciously or subconsciously. Feelings you want to be feeling or “should” be feeling but you can’t because your body won’t let you. Because maybe it knows it’s not safe for you.  

It’s when you reach that moment which makes your brow furrow because your chest is getting hot and something is about to erupt. When the feeling starts crawling up your neck, choking you, and you could try to make it stop but maybe it’s better for you if you don’t. When what comes out is painful - it’s tragic, it’s crippling. But with it comes a sliver of beauty. It’s burning and it’s stunning. 

When it’s over, you may learn by staring at the embers.”
