MIND THIEF is my first self-released EP as Hycastle. I started these tracks in 2022 while deep in addiction, coping with complex grief and trauma. Happy to say I’m releasing it sober and empowered.

This isn’t a pretty EP. It’s sharp, chaotic, over-the-top, and unbalanced. Most of it was made under the influence, and it was a pain in the ass to make these tracks even remotely listenable. But the energy of these tracks kept pulling me back to finish and release them, even if they sounded harsh.

This project taught me the power of letting go and embracing music in its raw, imperfect form. Chasing perfection isn’t the point. Music is power, and power is meant to be shared. It doesn’t have to be perfect. Just free your music!

I am constantly producing tracks right now, every day I wake up with a new idea and I go to sleep with Schranz in my head. I am coming closer to the sound that I want, but I try to improve my skills and knowledge every day and since I am a perfectionist but still want to show the world my ideas, creativity and constant rise in the knowledge of real Schranz sound design, I decided that I will post my spontaneous projects on every platform too.

History Sessions is all about where I revisit a particular genre that has played a big part in my DJ'ing journey, and mix up a selection of tracks that were important within that part of the journey. This one focuses on Makina, a genre that was introduced to me around 1998/1999, and went on to become my main passion for many years to come. The tracks on this mix are mainly taken from the Bit Music label, which played a huge part in the North East makina explosion around the turn of the century. This was when I got my first North East rave booking at Hangar 13. I was always interested in the roots of makina and how the DJs in Spain represented it. This is what inspired the evolution of my mixing style.
