Sascha Dive, Moreon & Baffa, Kike Mayor and Chklte inaugurate new Los Angeles based imprint SPĀS Records.
Guadalajara, Mexico born now Los Angeles, California based Yair Limon will launch his new imprint SPĀS Records this July. This initial various artist package welcomes Frankfurt, Germany’s Sascha Dive, Venezuela’s Moreon & Baffa, Peruvian, LA based artist Kike Mayor and Miami’s Chktle for a selection of slick, stripped-back grooves.
Sascha Dive’s ‘Seabird’ leads the way, as always delivering a smooth intricate blend of dubby intertwined chord sequences, shuffled drums and pulsating subs. Moreon & Baffa keep the dubbed out aesthetic moving forward next with ‘Auyan Tepuy’, bringing swirling stabs into the forefront alongside sparse drums and rumbling low-end tones.
Opening the flip-side is Kike Mayor’s ‘Seattle’, diving deeper courtesy of ethereal pads, hypnotic voice murmurs, squelchy acid licks and crunchy drums before Chklte’s ‘Stop Calling’ rounds out the release, stripping things back to a percussive driven feel while resonant sweeps, bouncy bass notes and metallic chimes ebb and flow throughout.

John Tejada does not really need any introduction - he is simply a phenomenon. 
Starting with his first releases in the mid nineties, he has been constantly expanding on his massive catalogue of singles, remixes and albums released on well known US and European Techno, House and Electronic Music labels and there seems to be no end in sight. In addition to his output on prestigious labels such as Playhouse, Plug Research, deFocus, Moods and Grooves, 7th City, Kompakt, and others he has also been running his own Palette Recordings imprint since 1996. 
John Tejada´s ep for Slices Of LIfe make reference to his earlier releases that were beloved by DJ´s for their driving energy and an occasional wink of humor. The three tracks on "Times LIke This" combine a musical glance back to earlier times, while showcasing Tejada´s high level production skills of today: A Slice from the past without being nostalgic.

Ben Rau serves up the third release on his own label Inkal in October featuring two new original tracks by the rising star.
Berlin born Ben Rau is building on the huge success of the first two Inkal releases with two original tracks of his glitched out groove laden signature house sound. Rau has been steadily building his own brand throughout 2017 on his label Inkal, with each release on multiple represses the label is fast becoming synonymous with the type of house music that works equally for the underground vinyl heads and on the big festival stages.
The A-side Ad Astra is a rolling peak time number that marries a ravey lead stab with his trademark swinging hats and glitched out filter modulations over a thumping groove. The drop recalls 90’s drum and bass influences and soothing pads take the track into deeper territory. The drums are loose and jostle for attention as the ducking and diving lead synth bring real movement up top. One for the more tasteful sets out there.
Up next is Do Your Thing built around a rolling percussive tech-house groove and rumbling sub bass line, Ben brings in 303 licks and a female vox that urges you to “do your thing “ throughout the track. This roller makes a fine contrast to the swinging grooves of the A-side, dense atmosphere and deep chords compliment the other elements to form an infectious head nodding journey throughout the tracks 8 minute duration.
Once again Rau shows what an essential house producer he has become.

The series will be curated by the label’s prolific frontrunners Prunk and Chris Stussy, who represent the new generation of artistry in Amsterdam’s lively housemusic scene.

Starting off on this first release, Berlin based duo The Willers Brothers, deliver two very strong originals on the A-side. On the B-flipside, Nick Beringer and Mike Sharon put their craft on the remixes to complete an allround debut package.

Every minute we are listening to music we are sharing a few specific moments of the musician´s life.
Our most beloved pieces of music are usually more than just the sum of beats, chords and notes: they also reflect on a period in the life of its producer. In addition to the musical experience each work also contains current life situations, memories and future expectations, some included intentionally, some unconsciously. 

Somehow it doesn't seem appropriate to put these SLICES OF LIFE only onto a hard drive amongst hundreds and thousands of imageless files, fearing that the next crash will delete and destroy everything. This is why instead of watching a list of track titles on a screen there are still so many music lovers who prefer to hold the result of all these hours of work and musical commitment in their hands as timeless documents printed onto vinyl. 

Therefore  Slices Of Life is featuring vinyl as preferred media for deep, warm sounding, funky and diverse club music.
