'Get Physical Music serve up Drega & Maline Aura's 'Mama Dear' next to a remix by former Audiofly member Luca Saporito.

The original of this single was a standout on Africa Gets Physical, Vol. 4 by Thandi Draai, and now gets a standalone release. Born and raised in South Africa, Drega epitomises the rich, compelling sound of his home country in each intricate production, never more so than with the hypnotic vocals of Maline Aura on this single and ensuing cuts like 'Vela' on Sondela Recordings. 'Mama Dear' has subtle beauty and dreamy melodies that soon get you in a loved-up reverie, full of hope and optimism.

Remixer Luca Saporito has done it all over a storied career in the underground. With Audiofly he has become an Ibiza mainstay, played all over the world many times and has plenty of credits on top labels like this one, Crosstown Rebels and Mobilee. Now going solo he is delving deeper into his unique signature sound.

His remix of 'Mama Dear' is an enchanting one that sinks into a late-night groove with wispy synths and enchanting vocals that send shivers down the spine. There are freaky little sound designs to bring the groove to life as the chords bring real soul and class before plunging bass notes make their mark.

This is a great reinterpretation of a still superb original and will be followed by a brand new edition of the Africa Gets Physical series later this year, once again compiled by Thandi Draai...'

Hailing from Gibraltar and now firmly established within London's vibrant music scene, young Rej shines as a promising rising star in both production and DJing. Having showcased his versatility through releases on esteemed labels such as Sum Over Histories, Metrica, and most recently, his full-length EP on the Moni Mykonos affiliated Anemos Dance, REj's artistry resonates with boundless creativity.

Each track - "Enhanced Robotics," "Hit Me," and "Binary Two-Step" - crafts a unique yet interconnected sonic landscape. Angular rhythms pulsate in tandem with mind-altering synthlines, entwined with hauntingly disembodied vocals that harken back to the revered days of early 2000s
minimal techno.

Setting the tone is the title track, "Enhanced Robotics,", whose distinct vocal-line defines the underlying theme of the whole EP. A haunting glimpse into a dystopian future, both ominous and uplifting, it propels forward with unwavering energy.
"Hit Me" exudes a more carefree essence and has consistently captivated audiences during Aera's most recent sets. The dynamic interplay between a dreamy arpeggio and a commanding main synthline imparts a distinct and exhilarating edge to this track.
Offering the ideal afterparty antidote to the two main tracks, "Binary Two-Step" unfolds as a slowed-down, foreboding trip-hop journey, sharing a sonic palette with its counterparts.

Sent from a distant future on the brink of collapse, Bongo & Pusk are here to dissect modern rave culture and find the essence at its core. An alternative version of The Philosophers Stone, known to the children of tomorrow as The Ravers Rock. Without it, humankind is destined to a future deprived of kindness, tolerance and laughter. A future where people have no connection to each other, themselves or the planet they inhabit. Bound as slaves to the Hamster Wheel of Eternity.

Their mission started with wax, plastic and cracked code on old machines. Back in the late 90’s they were just teenagers with a shared passion for rave music, but turning 1’s and 0’s into vibrating air quickly became their focus. Now they operate from their studio in Copenhagen - an inter-dimensional vessel, where folding waves and time with a mix of classic analogues and modern digitals are their weapons of choice.

A keen sense for quality music and a symbiotic playing style has made them a mainstay on the Copenhagen and Berlin underground scene and insistingly pushing their sound performance forward sets them apart from your ordinary conveyor of electronic music. In constant search for that magic moment when the universe aligns and everything comes one, they have guested a multitude of clubs and festivals in Northern Europe and released on imprints like Sum Over Histories, Get Physical, Tonkind, Sofa Beats, Golden Gate Records and Compute Music.


After a recent studio rebuild, our protagonists are now looking deeper into modular sound design and a more performative approach to writing music. That and finishing a lot of works is setting up for much more to come.

DROM : A playful session had created a groove, but it had no real direction or purpose so it stayed in the drawer for a while. Simultaneously we were exploring darker sonic territories and that unnerving feeling of having pushed things too far. Enter Juno-60 and a simple chord bending its way deep into our souls, and Drom was born. A celebration of the uglier side of rave culture and that ambiguous feeling of not being able to stop and enjoying it too.

REMIX: Prepare to embark on a mesmerizing journey through sound with Hammon & LERM's latest remix. This enchanting rendition takes you on a delightful ride, filled with kaleidoscopic melodies and mind-bending beats. Lehar & Kadosh - Again and Again

'Turkish-born, Barcelona-based DJ and producer Elif celebrates the launch of her debut label Marginalia today, with the release of the imprint’s eagerly anticipated inaugural offering, Medusa EP.

Conceived and created as a community to support, nurture and develop the incredible output of the producers whose music forms the backbone of Elif’s DJ sets worldwide, Marginalia’s opening three-track opus features two separate collaborations with hotly-tipped Brazilian producer Althoff and Tel Aviv-based artist Takiru, alongside an original solo offering from label boss Elif. Marginalia’s inaugural release opens with its blistering title track Medusa; a stunning original mix from Elif herself, which presents all of the hypnotic sensibilities we’ve come to know and love from the Turkish producer’s impeccable output. Laying a foundation of chugging percussion, skittish samples and snarling bass, Medusa unfolds a fantastical patchwork of trippy synth-work, ebbing and flowing between each element to heady effect, as Elif opens up Marginalia’s catalogue in style. 
 
Referencing the wildly imaginative notes and markings made in the margins of books dating back to the 11 th Century, the EP’s aptly-titled second offering, Run Wild, sees Elif team up with close friend and fellow Barcelona-based artist Althoff. Championing a sinister, medieval sound palette that’s founded on raw, organic house and melodic techno sentiments, the pair’s inaugural collaboration is a masterclass from the off, and one that fully embraces the label’s sound and ethos. Deliciously fluid and wholly authentic, Run Wild is primed for late-night listening and already looks set to enter into the selections of dance music’s international touring elite. 
 
Last, but by no means least, Elif rounds out Marginalia’s first EP with another debut collaboration, this time with hotly-tipped Israeli producer Takiru; one of the leading artists within Tel-Aviv’s flourishing underground circuit. Their intoxicating vocal cut, WTF, serves as a rapturous leftfield closer that transcends the notion of genres, instead opting for stark ambiguity and originality. Combining the seemingly disparate realms of 80s rock, Italo disco, breakbeat and electronica, the pair’s joint offering produces a daring, yet warmly familiar sound that’s as niche as it is versatile. 

Speaking about the launch of Marginalia, Elif commented:

“This label has been a long time in the making and I’m beyond excited to finally be sharing our concept of Marginalia with the world. I’m fortunate enough to be sent truly amazing music by some of the most incredibly talented producers on a daily basis, and Marginalia is my way of shedding light on the talent that keeps this industry alive. Althoff and Takiru are two artists that I’ve got so much respect for, and I’m so grateful that they’ve trusted me with our collaborations to launch this new project.”
