"Being from New Zealand, I've watched Mince from afar for a number of years - it's always been a club night I'd dreamt of playing. A lot of my influences (LSDXOXO, MikeQ, Ah-Mer-Ah-Su) have all played Mince gigs in the past. It goes without saying that playing the Mince 12th Birthday at the Sydney Opera House this year was a dream come true; my biggest show to date on a lineup at such an iconic venue is still insane to think about.

Having only played one show outside of NZ prior, I expected to feel so far out of my depth. The thought of coming to a different country and not having the crowd know who you are is daunting, but it makes for a challenge I'm always going to be up for. I walked in knowing all I needed to do was have just as much fun as the dancers were having - DJing is nothing short of an energy exchange. If I gave it, the crowd would give it back ten fold. Even on a Sunday night. I'm forever going to be grateful for the experience that show gave me; I left that night feeling completely reinvigorated. I think I fell in love with DJing for the ten thousandth time that night. Can't wait to be back :)" - @aaatarangi
