Because of Corona, this mixtape had to be streamed from my living room, so please think of it as a time capsule with the mediocre quality and messanger sounds in the backround.

With only one exception, all the music on this selection was done by female artists from 1967 -74. That was exactly the time of brutal military dictatorship which imprisoned, tortured and evicted people from greece. Go to the next greek restaurant in your neighborhood and ask them if their family has moved here in that exact time. You might be surprised to hear their story... Even if you don't understand the lyrics (which couldn't be of obvious political content) you can hear and FEEL the tension and thirst for freedom on side A which is burstin into pure joy on side B when the junta was already on its knees. While this mix was made, the athens police is goin more and more into the neighborhood of exarchia and the polytechnical university which was the beginning of antifascist fight in the 70s. While at the exact same time there are people in different regions of greece fleeing from war and terror themselves. I hope you share my helplessness and anger in the same way you can share my joy and hope for change!
