Cold Weather Deep Mix

With Halloween just around the corner I thought I'd record a dark, ravey studio mix of Goa inspired trance and acid techno. Starting low and slow, the pace and energy builds up from 130-160 bpm throughout the course of the set. Featuring Y2K era/inspired tunes old and new from a variety of excellent international artists such as Maara, Reflex Blue, Spray, Mabel and Abdul Raeva.

Summer23//Dreaming of Clear Skies

What Would You Do?

I recorded this mix a ways back last year after I found myself lamenting over how little I finish projects one night and then suddenly realized that I actually have quite a bit of finished music that hasn't really even seen the light of day yet. So, I ended up recording this seamless mix of all 100% original productions to close out this chapter of my music production journey before moving onto new tempos and sounds and then promptly forgot about it for over a year until now at the time of uploading.

The mix is laid out in a way that flows from light to dark and back to light again and features some professionally mastered, some home mastered and some unmastered but all effectively unreleased productions of my own in a fairly wide variety of sounds and moods, from long and trippy microhouse journeys to dark, muscular techno workouts and then eventually onto deep and uplifting progressive sunrise vibes with low, slow (by today's standards) grooves serving as the main thread linking them together from beginning to end. All of the tracks featured in this mix are at least 2-3 years old now but to be honest I haven't been nearly as productive since then so this still represents the brunt of my finished work in some ways.

This project was somewhat an exercise just to finish and put out an extended musical narrative that is totally original and completely mine for once, but for whomever may happen upon it I sincerely hope you might get some enjoyment out of it as many of these tracks were incredibly therapeutic for me to create during otherwise dark and difficult times in my life.

Random fun fact: The intro track was created and named early during the day on New Year's Eve 2019 going into 2020, before any of us had any idea what a shit show this next decade was about to become so I just left it as is but if only I had known what the next few years would have in store I probably would have named it something else..

It's been a while since I've uploaded an afterhours geared mix so here is an extra long micro/minimal set packed to the brim with drippy, intricate grooves and lush soundscapes. Featuring deep digs from around the globe as well as a good chunk of my own original unreleased material.

DJ, producer and general dance music culture enthusiast based in Amiskwacîwâskahikan (ᐊᒥᐢᑿᒌᐚᐢᑲᐦᐃᑲᐣ), also known as Edmonton, Alberta.

Local scene collaborator with 12+ years of experience DJing and producing music along with over a decade of working in the underground dance community doing anything from security and harm reduction to freelance lights, sound, and VJ work in addition to hosting event series that are ongoing to this day along with his beloved partner and crewmates.

Founder of Wet Floor and the retired Soundgarten event series, co-founder of the ongoing Muscle Memory party series which have featured local Albertan talent such as Angel Science, GUNK, Neal K and TAF as well as many other incredible local artists. Longtime SWEAT crewmate and collaborator with a hand in dozens of events along with a handful of local festivals.

Techno geek but patron of all forms of dance and experimental music including but not limited to house, trance, minimal, breaks, downtempo, ambient, progressive, lofi, electronica, IDM, dubstep, barber beats, eurodance, eco house, goblin trance, vaporwave, gothic jazz, drone, noise, distant trains passing in the night, a lawn mower outside on a hot summer evening while laying down after too many beers, anything with the word "liquid" in it, hip hop, d&b, footwork, et cetera. Rambling at this point but you get the drift. PLUR is everything. Long live the underground!
