Like an undulating audio animal moving through the air, the latest in collaborations between Delayed favorites Polygonia, Dycide, and FTP Doctor aptly named ‘Rotation Knock’ is a lively celebration of all things polyrhythmic. Starting off strong and never letting up, the drums parade around the soundstage bouncing to and fro bringing a delightful swing to the track. All being flanked by the quick pitter patter like bongos giving a junglish feel.

Rotation Knock is the second track off of the forthcoming, ‘Ground Work’ EP being released this upcoming February 14th, by Polygonia’s IO Records and their first release of 2023.

XOR Gate is the brainchild of Heinrich Mueller, one half of Drexciya and Dopplereffekt.

In linguistic or electronic logic, the XOR Gate designates a device, digital or grammatical, which outputs a value only when two differing inputs are fed into it. This can be summed up with the formula "one or the other but not neither, nor both."

A conic section is a shape created as a plane intersects a cone. This can result in different figures such as a circle, an ellipse, a parabola or a hyperbola. Conic Sections is here composed of eight themes, or shapes, over which waveform and synthesis entirely merge with human emotions. The line is blurred. These eight themes are intertwined, forming one long musical string. The line is forever blurred.

Conic Sections was commissioned by ArtCenter South Florida in Miami, for the AN IMAGE exhibit.

Proper full-length outing from Naarm quartet and venerable live show Polito! Though prior associations with Butter Sessions have birthed EP’s and compilation appearances, Collapse Phase gathers the most cohesive body of work from the group to date. Self-described as "a meeting of improvised contemporary dance and live improvised techno music, working together to create entrancing performance experiences", the project translates impressively to the long-player format. Holding no pretence with its title, opening cut ‘Chuggalug’ swirls around the stereo field building upon sustained synth warbles with low-key basslines and breaks propelling the track. As the album progresses from the chug into gridlocked, Mills-ian loops and fast, extra-terrestrial sound design (all swinging 909s + decay), we’re also treated to contrasting downtempo acid cuts and dubwise, day-time festival vibes (‘Fortune Teller’). ‘Nine Lines’ layers various patterns in a classy exercise of dancefloor tension building, with an undoubtedly in-the-moment feeling evidencing Polito’s live show foundations. Across the board the group showcase their mastering of a kind of addition/subtraction push and pull, but the varying influences in sound design provide an extra layer of depth to the whole thing and cement the Polito brand. On both ‘Inside The Sphere’ and ‘The Sphere Is Collapsing’, the dreamier, more reflective edges of 90s IDM are given a nod and these two strike as up there with the best on the album. Head for ‘Mercado Waltz’ for a super interesting fusion of loopy techno and modular dubstep. 

Polito is a collaboration between musicians Robert Downie and Finnian Langham, and dancers Arabella Frahn-Starkie and Hillary Goldsmith.

Onyr is the electronic music project of London-based drummer and producer Dave Storey. After making his debut in 2025 with releases on Sweden’s AEDI Records and BEAM Records, he now unveils his first full EP, Hydrus, released on the French label 909 Connection.

Drawing on his deep rhythmic sensibility and expansive musical background, his productions blend an eclectic mix of organic textures, psychedelia, and deep techno into a distinctly polyrhythmic and hypnotic sound. The result is an immersive sonic world that bridges the acoustic and electronic, built on carefully crafted grooves, euphoric atmospheres, and a drive to explore different states of consciousness.

To complete the EP, STUPR made a tribal and dubby interpretation of Rainmaker, and R.2614 remixed Swirl, adding his unique occult touch to the release.

Hydrus introduces Onyr as an artist with a clear and compelling sonic identity.
