"Call It Love" is the first single from "Uhuru", the forthcoming debut album by Summers Sons & C.Tappin from London and Bristol. Summers Sons are Turt (rap) & Slim (beats) who are actually brothers. They are longtime friends with vocalist and pianist C.Tappin. Their music can be described as rap with a lot of jazz. We like to call it cool bap.

"Call It Love" inculdes an instrumental beat edit version. The artwork is by German-Venezuelan painter and illustrator Denis Faneites who lives in Berlin.
"Uhuru" means freedom in Swahili. The journey of this album started back in 2015 and was inspired by the people and places of Tanzania. After three years of channelling the vibe into beats and bars, it is finally here! "Uhuru" will be available digital and on double vinyl including instrumental edits of all songs. Release date is Sept 7th.

Within less than a year Slim (of Summers Sons) has become one of MPM's new main producers, defining the label sound with a bunch of releases: two singles for KO-OP (“Lifted” & “Burton” - with the later one having passed the 1 million streams mark), the Summers Sons EP “Undertones” and Summers Sons & C.Tappin album “Uhuru”.

On his new single “Night Bus” Slim is taking us on a journey through his home-town London. The song captures the vibe of a long way back home after an even longer night out perfectly. Put on your headphones, close your eyes and find yourself sitting next to Slim rolling through the streets of a city that never sleeps and never fails to inspire.

“Night Bus” is the second taster from the forthcoming KO-OP split album by Joe Corfield and Slim, titled “KO-OP 2”. Joe's single “Grey Kimono” is already available on all platforms. “KO-OP 2” is the follow-up to the highly successful “KO-OP 1” LP by Smoke Trees and Juan Rios.

When we started KO-OP in the summer of 2017, little did we knew where this journey would take us to. Ever since we had the pleasure to work with 21 artists from all over the world and have put out almost 80 tracks on lp, tape and digital. Now we are happy to share with you KO-OP 2 - a split album by two of our favourite producers from the UK: Slim and Joe Corfield. 

Slim is one half of London rap group Summers Sons. The Sons are signed to MPM where they have released two albums (“Undertones” & “Uhuru”). In February 2019 Summers Sons will play their first German tour together with Children of Zeus. Slim has released instrumental cuts on KO-OP, Brownswood and Banoffee Pie, plus a beattape on Yogocop Records. 

Joe Corfield hails from Birmingham and has released a string of albums via Radio Juicy and Yogocop. He is coming with his very own sound. Futuristic and soulful, with a great ear to detail. It was actually Flofilz' idea to have them both on one record. 

“KO-OP 2” will be released on one LP limited to 500 copies with two individual covers by Rahel Süßkind, a Berlin based artist (and part of Money $ex Records) who is responsible for all KO-OP artwork. A limited cassette edition (100 tapes) will also be on sale.

C.Tappin is a pianist/singer from South-London and member of the Lightworks crew, which consists of him and jazz-rap duo Summers Sons. In 2018 they released their debut album "Uhuru" on Melting Pot Music. "Ashes To Ashes" is Tappin's first solo EP. It's a reflection of a musical and personal journey. On four original jams Tappin fuses cosmic jazz, broken beat, house and rap. Inspired by his life in London as well as by his travels to Tansania where he is working as a teacher for various school projects.

"Ashes To Ashes" comes with three radical reworks by some of Tappin's favourite producers: Slim (Summers Sons), Reginald Omas Mamode IV and Hodini. The cover artwork has been done by UK painter / illustrator Tilly Mint (known for her artworks for Yazmin Lacey and Wulu).

South London jazz rap group Summers Sons return with their first new tune since their 2018 album “Uhuru”. Summers Sons are Turt (vocals) and Slim (production). They are actual brothers, Summers is their surname.

"Blues Skies" is the first taster from their forthcomig album "The Rain" which will be released on November 23rd. With “The Rain” Summers Sons are entering new territory. This is all we can tell at this point.

Since signing with Melting Pot Music in 2017, Summers Sons have released  a mini-album “Undertones” and their debut album “Uhuru” (a joint venture with pianist and singer C.Tappin). They have been featured on albums by Twit One and Flatpocket, toured with Children of Zeus and played shows with Melodiesinfonie and FloFilz. The latter also remixed one of their songs as did Twit One and Cap Kendricks.
