SLIMELIGHT #003 - LESS THAN HUMAN

For our forth mix we introduce Slimelight resident Dj Jo The Waiter, showcasing a taste of his set for our next event on the 08th of July.

Jo The Waiter has been a resident DJ for  Slimelight London, the longest running alternative club in the world, since 2012 and has also been a keyboard player for Dark Electro band Global Citizen.

He officially lost his DJ virginity in 2006 and has since built a great reputation for playing Dark Electro, 80's Electronic, Industrial, Goth and Post-Punk at some of the UK's best club nights including residencies for Unholy and AntiChrist. 
He has also played at Reptile, Synthetic Culture, Club Noir, Syn and twice along side his electro hero Gary Numan at The Electric Ballroom and The Scala.

SLIMELIGHT #004 - JO THE WAITER

For our fifth mix we introduce Reformation boss Dj Fil Noir, showcasing a taste of his set for our next event Slimelight Summer Darkness on the 19th of August. 

DJ Fil Noir began DJing in 2014 upon his return to London from overseas. Influenced by his time spent in Europe, Fil Noir's sets are a fusion of current and classic darkwave, post-punk, goth and EBM, but always with a distinctly European focus.

Fil Noir founded his own night in London back in 2019, Club Reformation, that focuses on playing the best of the contemporary gothic scene.

SLIMELIGHT #010 - CARLOS GRABSTEIN

DJ Panic began his career in 1983, making waves as a club DJ. Throughout the ‘90s and 2000s, he ran iconic nights like Pure Industrial, Switchblade Sisters, Adventures of Gwendoline, and Headhunter in Camden and Soho, while also spinning globally. A fixture at Slimelight from 1999 to 2009, his DJ career took a backseat as his film work gained prominence. Now, Panic returns with his latest collaborative project, Sz. Berlin ± Panic, which recently dropped its first film and soundtrack.

This mix effortlessly blends industrial, EBM, and electro, with a hint of goth attitude.

Recorded live on Saturday, 19th October 2024, at Slimelight’s Halloween main party.

SLIMELIGHT #014 - MATT HART

Hailing from sunny Greece, with roots from melancholic Eastern Europe, Nyû has been involved in the underground scene for over a decade. Nyû has been passionate about cold//dark//synth//minimal - wave, post-punk & italo disco music since an early age, and she likes to tailor her sets according to the night she’s DJing (much like her fashion sense…).

Despite having only started DJing in 2020, she has already played at nights such as Silent Hedges (Death Disco, Athens, Greece), No Alternative (Zed Alley, Bristol), Reformation (Aces&Eights, London), After the Gallows (229, London), Slimelight (Electrowerkz, London), and Dark Neon (Bristol), as well as various sets in her hometown of Thessaloniki, Greece.

SLIMELIGHT #015 - NYÛ

Skinwork grew up in London through the late ’70s and early ’80s, drawn to electronica, post-punk, New Wave, and electro-funk/hip-hop, with a lasting love for the darker side of ’80s alternative music. By the mid-’80s, he was deep into record collecting, driven purely by passion.

In the early ’90s, a friend introduced him to mixing. He quickly honed his craft, sharing mix tapes that led to gigs at private parties and small West End clubs. As his sound developed a harder edge, Skinwork found his place in London’s underground—playing squat parties and the occasional fetish night.

Influenced by Detroit techno, trance, and progressive leftfield sounds, his sets have always bridged boundaries. Today, Skinwork channels his energy into exploring his darker roots, blending classic and contemporary Darkwave, Industrial, and Trad Goth with precision and intensity. He is also a regular guest DJ at Slimelight, performing on the goth floor.

SLIMELIGHT #016 - SKINWORK

DJ Cavey Nik.

Nik has been playing at Slimes for several years on the Goth floor.

A Londoner raised on Goth classics, he’s DJ’d across the UK, throughout much of the EU, and further afield at both underground and prestigious events.

He has showcased many bands and international DJs at his London parties and is a strong supporter of the DIY ethic. His events include the (in)famous Dead & Buried, No Tears, Zombie Dance, and he’s an integral member of the Catacombs Club team.

Focused on the dancefloor, he delivers high-energy sets that keep people moving and always adapts in real time.

Expect a mix of old and new: Deathrock, Goth, Post/Electropunk, Minimal, 80s NDW, Punk, and Gothabilly. In his DJ sets he incorporates guitar-driven music alongside a wide range of electronic sounds.


SLIMELIGHT #017 - CAVEY NIK

Soylent Black began DJing in 2003, holding early residencies at Cyberdog, Antiworld, Teknoworld, and Channel 83 in Florence. Since then, he has appeared as a guest at a wide range of events and clubs, including Slimelight, Kaos, Blanc, Infest, SubSystems, Gravity, Overdrive, Sinistry, Koncrete, Convergence, Damage Control, Seed (TG), and La Nuit de Sade in Florence.

He has also been featured on podcasts for Riot! Radio Records, Northern Industrial Movement, Virtual Underground, Retribution, and Klang Kommando.

A regular guest at Slimelight, Soylent Black usually plays on Francesca's Goth floor, delivering Goth and Darkwave sets. For this special 1-hour mix curated exclusively for Slimelight’s SoundCloud, he shifts into Industrial—a style he brings out for us on select nights when we run our Industec Floor.

SLIMELIGHT #018 - SOYLENT BLACK

Corpus Noctis started DJing in South Africa in the mid-90s. After moving to London in 2001, he became a resident DJ at Slimelight for several years, playing gothic rock, deathrock, darkwave, and neofolk. After time spent living in America, he has recently returned to London and to DJing.

This set features around 100 minutes of gothic rock, post-punk, darkwave, and deathrock. Tracks by Earth Calling Angela, Fearing, Ground Nero, Stranger, and Lovers open the mix with a traditional goth rock atmosphere. Date at Midnight, A Projection, and Blind Dreams take it into post-punk and darkwave territory, before Gothic Sex, The Rope, and Black Atmosphere push things into a deathrock cacophony. Bands such as Exedra, Land of Passion, and La Vene di Lucretia appear, with the set closing on a classic Shadow Project track.

A regular guest at Slimelight, Corpus Noctis is known for his goth and darkwave sets on Francesca’s Goth Floor.

SLIMELIGHT #019 - CORPUS NOCTIS

Slimelight is the longest running dark scene club in the world, as well as one of the most recognised and respected events. The club was founded by Dette Marsh and Mayuan Mak in 1987, and has been located at its current venue “The Electrowerkz” since October of that year. 

Initially opening as a members only club with just one dance floor playing what was advertised as “the only alternative”, in reality this was a mix of goth, post punk, industrial, new wave, indie, alternative electronic, and crossover 80s music.

Over the years the club has adapted to the ever changing dark scene, and has expanded to include multiple dance floors and performances from live bands.
