‘Round U’ is a perfect summertime anthem, immediately setting the vibe with it’s driving 4x4 groove and light melodic touches. Once the bass kicks in, it’s game over - and absolutely guaranteed to get any crowd jumping.

Second track ‘Secrets’ hits it’s stride straight away with a tough 2-step rhythm, before unfolding into a proper bubbler complete with diva vocal stabs and rolling bass.

Finally, label-mate Angus Green delivers another master-class in remix production, taking the title track and tweaking the formula just enough to bring something fresh to the table - further proving him as the one to watch in UKG.

Nottingham’s very own DJ Terrex pairs up with legendary Nottingham star, Marita, best known from her 2008 hit “Geiom & Marita – Reminissin” which rose to fame after featuring on the game changing, Ministry Of Sound, “The Sound Of Dubstep” compilation, the track also went on to receive remixes from Skream and Kode 9. 

This new collaboration sees Marita bring the classic 1990 house track ‘La India - Lover Who Rocks You’ back to life in her own old school, soulful style. Paired with DJ Terrex providing a happy, bouncy, fair ground ride of an instrumental. Coincided with a full music video, and vinyl release courtesy of Nottingham based record label, Pond Life Party.

Over the last 4 months the track has gained amazing support from the fringe of the underground UK Garage scene on both radio, and in the rave. Including DJ EZ, Interplanetary Criminal, DJ Q, Notion, Riz La Teef, Main Phase, Dr Banana, Royal T and more.

August 2022 seen the launch of DJ Terrex, a collaboration project between artists DASEPLATE and J69, in this time the duo saw their debut single reach #25 in the iTunes dance chart, their debut vinyl release sell out in 3 hours, get signed to Earth Agency, and receive numerous radio and playlist support, including Kiss FM, Rinse FM, and Spotify’s Grime Shutdown playlist.

Phonetix brings a dazzling level of technical expertise to his take on D Selektah ‘Be Good’, offering a blueprint for how to make UK Garage sound simultaneously classic and brand new.

BWK Project flexes his production muscle on Kells ‘A Girl’ with a club-focused bump ‘n’ groove refix that showcases why he’s one of the most in-demand artists working in UK Garage today.

Angus Green flips the original 4x4 action of Eximius ‘So Good’ into a sparkling 2-Step rhythm perfect for laid-back sunday sessions.

Earthnut deliver a sense of playfulness in their mutation of Kazumi Anazai’s deep cut ‘Beehive’, creating a rolling percussive monster in the process.

Kells displays his inimitable style on Royal Flush’s fan favourite ‘Need You’, opting for a stripped-back 4x4 banger that will heat up any dance- floor.

Aaron Danks brilliantly flips Angus Green’s discofied original ‘Got To Leave’ into a speed garage warper that is everything you want from that description, and more.

Fork and Knife adds a dash of grime to his take on label-mate Phonetix ‘Lighting Fires’, pulling out all the stops to deliver a refix that packs a sonic punch.

Witchdoctor works his magic on Limita’s classic joint ‘Static’, contorting it into a deep and deadly journey into breaks.

Finally, the immensely talented MKII heats up the club with his melodic rave-inspired take on Nekst’s collaboration with Orla O’Dwyer ‘Connektions’, delivering a perfect closing track.

It’s no secret we love garage here at Slime. Whether its killer floor-fillers or ethereal two-step jams, there’s a little place in our hearts for them all. So we’re excited to be unveiling the first in an ongoing series of compilations centred around up and coming producers making their mark in the genre, from around the world. ‘Future Sound Of Garage’ looks to the producers that will be staking a claim to the sound in the near future. We’ve assembled ten of the most exciting producers coming up in the scene, who have each contributed an exclusive track for this release.

The sultry, low-slung groove of ‘Swerve’ from London-based producer A.Motion opens proceedings, full of sparse percussion and seductive vocals, before giving way to the bumpy rhythms of Finland’s Sleezy with ‘Wait’, bubbling over with retro basslines and snapping clicks. If you prefer that throwback style but brought bang up to date, then Londoner Urbani comes correct with ‘Dangerous’, packed to the brim with that nostalgic skip and swing strapped to a killer bassline – something it shares in common with the proceeding thriller from Leeds producer Bad Habit. ‘Trying Times’ floats in on subtle chords before detonating with expertly-clipped vocals and pulsating bass.

Dutch producer David Eliza weaponises his contribution ‘Scapegoat’ with supersonic beats and deadly basslines built around an insistent vocal sample that will have people stampeding to the dancefloor. Similarly, Yorkshire newcomer Jonah delivers a blistering mutation of garage with ‘Hazmat’, dark chords and staccato basslines swirling in the mix over a thundering 4x4 beat. Italian producer Bodwan delivers a warehouse classic in the making with an insistent piano loop and see-saw bassline, perfect for strobe-lit tunnel raves everywhere. If it’s epic you’re after then look no further than the near 8-minute odyssey from Blackboxx. ‘Levitate Me’ starts one way, building swirling chords, ethereal vibes and soaring vocals, before exploding into a roaring bassline monster that will make your chest rattle.

Macao-based producer Burnie delivers the penultimate track with the beautiful ‘Comet Dancing’, expertly built around a sonorous vocal and clipped two-step vibes. Deft touches of 808 and deep swashes of melody switch the style, keeping you guessing until the very end. Finally, Australian producer Greed closes the compilation in fine style with the gorgeous ‘Deep Blue’, replete with shimmering piano keys and hazy percussion – guaranteed to elevate your mind into a blissful state of being.
