Slime welcomes established UK producer Hoffman to the label. Having developed a strong following in the breaks scene across the past few years, but never being confined to one sound or style, he comes to the imprint with an impressive body of work. However for his debut here, he has crafted a selection of beautiful and melodic tracks that fit perfectly with the Slime aesthetic. 

‘Pieces’ glides into view through a haze of enthralling ambient textures, before enveloping around a skeletal garage beat and ethereal vocals. The vibe keeps building on its atmospheric base template, encasing you in pure, golden warmth and drawing you deeper into its clutches.

‘Strong’ takes things up a notch with a soulful roller strapped to a gigantic bassline. Delicate percussion glitters overhead as sonic waves of sunshine wash over you before the breakdown adds swirling synths and soaring vocals to the mix to send you into a blissful orbit.

‘Dust’ is an eight-minute epic that never feels like it outstays its welcome. Rolling in on spaced-out chords and a heavyweight bassline, the track’s construction continues to shift underfoot like tectonic plates moving along the earth’s axis. It never lifts above its laconic tempo, but with a narcotic rhythm as sublime as this you’d want it loop into infinity anyway.

‘Round U’ is a perfect summertime anthem, immediately setting the vibe with it’s driving 4x4 groove and light melodic touches. Once the bass kicks in, it’s game over - and absolutely guaranteed to get any crowd jumping.

Second track ‘Secrets’ hits it’s stride straight away with a tough 2-step rhythm, before unfolding into a proper bubbler complete with diva vocal stabs and rolling bass.

Finally, label-mate Angus Green delivers another master-class in remix production, taking the title track and tweaking the formula just enough to bring something fresh to the table - further proving him as the one to watch in UKG.

Slime welcomes back to the label London producer Monika. Since debuting on the imprint last year with the spellbinding ‘Devotion’ EP he has been hard at work refining his unique distillation of the autonomic sound through a prism of melody and ethereal atmospherics. For his return, he brings four beautiful cuts of forward-thinking electronic music that will capture your heart instantly.

‘Prologue’ aptly commences proceedings with mournful chords and a stuttering half-beat laid over sultry female vocals and swirling FX. Expertly layered into an overwhelming crescendo of emotion just as the bass kicks in, this swiftly transports you out of the everyday and into the interstellar.

‘You Can’t Keep’ forms into view with a glittering array of strings and soulful vocals before a thunderous beat drops across the top to devastating effect. The pressure intensifies as the bass pins your chestplate to the wall, whilst intricate percussion and keys provide a mesmerizing interplay.

‘Chimera’ sees the title track explore the artist’s sound further with a solemn opening of unfolding chords and snapping drumbeats before curving out into a deep and slow roller. Incessant keys drive the track forward and further down into your brain where it takes up residence as ghostly vocals and scattershot percussion surround your mind.

‘She’ brings the EP to a suitable close with a dub-infused throwdown that mirrors the former offerings but yet again takes things up onto another tangent, with shimmering piano and descending basslines providing a counterpoint to the percussive firepower and soaring vocals.

Nottingham’s very own DJ Terrex pairs up with legendary Nottingham star, Marita, best known from her 2008 hit “Geiom & Marita – Reminissin” which rose to fame after featuring on the game changing, Ministry Of Sound, “The Sound Of Dubstep” compilation, the track also went on to receive remixes from Skream and Kode 9. 

This new collaboration sees Marita bring the classic 1990 house track ‘La India - Lover Who Rocks You’ back to life in her own old school, soulful style. Paired with DJ Terrex providing a happy, bouncy, fair ground ride of an instrumental. Coincided with a full music video, and vinyl release courtesy of Nottingham based record label, Pond Life Party.

Over the last 4 months the track has gained amazing support from the fringe of the underground UK Garage scene on both radio, and in the rave. Including DJ EZ, Interplanetary Criminal, DJ Q, Notion, Riz La Teef, Main Phase, Dr Banana, Royal T and more.
