Surf's Out is the lead track from our forthcoming EP, YouTubular Bells. It is unzipped, weird fuzzy-in-the-head pop, and it is as catchy as a ripped fingernail on a nice sweater. 

"Totally tubular, very cylindrical".

This cut showcases perfectly the themes of YouTubular Bells, skeletal tracks built upon YouTube instructional videos, audio demonstrations warped beyond all recognition, and fleshed up with warm synth tones and idiosyncratic lyrics.

I was playing with a granular synth plugin and I wanted a sound that was soft but clear like a choirboy or something, but I can't sing like a choirboy and so I searched for "King's choir carols" and that was the start of this track. It sounds a bit different now but I like it. Unfortunately it might be too upbeat for the game I'm working on, but I might stick it in anyway.
