This mix was made by DJ Atlea in commemoration of our fallen comrade Barrett Clark, on the eve of the two-year anniversary of his departure - in the Oakland fire on December 2nd, 2016. 

It is the second in a series of mixes and releases illuminating Barrett's secret musical legacy. Consisting purely of tracks released via the Katabatik Kollektion series and small CDr and cassette releases - this mix showcases another perspective on this archive as interpreted by DJ Atlea. Barrett was a very active studio and live musician, working in the underground electronic music scene in the Bay area from the late 90s up until his death in 2016. He wrote and performed solo works under: RMS, RPTN , Sidereal Oscillations and Asyd Barrett  and collaborated in the projects : POLAR, Accenting Shadows, Soriah + RMS, Osc Slop, Nuit Hadit and others.  

As with volume one, this is primarily a personal tribute to a dearly missed friend who has left far too soon. Rest in Bass, Barrett - we love you!

Studio has been put back together and for this track I just opened the vcas on the Neutron and Crave, set up some PWM and filter modulation with LFOs, added a short repeating line from the Bodyssey, and then felt like poking in a drum track.  This time played around with mixing and a few post effects in Reaper.  The Eventide H9 adds width to the drone and the bassline.
