This year I celebrate 24 years as a pro DJ in the Rave business on exactly the same day as Raindance. Even though I was a DJ from a very young age Raindance was my first big break back in 1989 so I always see it as my proper début in to the Rave scene...

It is a massive challenge trying to pick from so many wicked tunes... so the track list is simply a mixed bag of tunes that bring back great memories of Jenkins Lane and all of the Raindance tours that I was involved in through the early years.

Following on from the first 93 night at PST a few months earlier, Tim Ryan threw everything he had and more and took over the lower floor at The Institute in Birmingham (the old Dance Factory) to take us all back to 1993. Jock did his usual incredible drapes to decorate the venue, lasers were hired in, and a sound engineer was on point all night to make sure the decks were running right. Tim really did pull out all the stops.

Sadly Stu Allan, Jason Kaye & Tango are no longer with us, and this was the last time I saw Stu & Tango  perform. I played in the Garage room and a wicked night was had by all. Some of these DJ's didn't exactly follow the rules and stick by the exact year lol, but the music overall was great.

Thanks for another great opportunity Tim and giving me this pack afterwards. A true friend indeed (awwwww friend).

Here's a mix I did back in 1991 around the time we were doing small events at the Raindance Clubhouse in Jenkins Lane, the recording is OK, not the best as it's from cassette but I've managed to brighten it up a bit. Godfather’, ‘Legend’, ‘International Hero’. All accolades attributed by loving fans Worldwide to the DJ, Producer and scene pioneer known as ‘Slipmatt’. For over three decades, this dubplate diamond has been changing the game, staying on the pulse and keeping ahead of the curve, packing dancefloors and selling out clubs long before it was cool and still does so to this very day.
  
Having produced a ton of successful singles and compiled a number of hit selling mix albums under his ‘Slipmatt’ alias for some of the World’s most respected record labels including United Dance and Ministry Of Sound, ‘Slipmatt’ is also one of the masterminds behind legendary production outfit SL2 (along with Lime and MC Jay), the visionaries responsible for the chart smashing anthems ‘On A Ragga Tip’ & ‘Way In My Brain’ among many others on the iconic label XL Recordings, home to legendary acts such as ‘The Prodigy’, ‘Basement Jaxx’; and ‘Adele’.

‘Slipmatt’ also repeatedly continues to play across the globe in the USA, Asia, Australia, Europe and every corner of his native UK for a string of well recognised and well attended club promotions, festivals and events. Add to that his upcoming book “My Story (and How I Became a World Class DJ)”, which is set to be a smash hit amongst rave fanatics the World over later this year and with over a hundred gigs booked for 2020 already (mid-Feb), there are no signs of this crowd pleasing international artist slowing down any time soon.
