This is a pointed collection of music from an era of my life which greatly inspired my musical direction.  Travel, food, friends, family.. bits of my life are ingrained in the music.  The earliest work was started in January of 2011, while the latest was started in August of 2013.

A big thanks to everyone in my life who has been supportive of my music and artistry.  From the Seattle music heads I timidly met for the first time in The Living Room Bar, to the prominent and wonderful folks who have booked me for shows  in Seattle over the years.  I also give major thanks to the friends I've made abroad, for helping me to share my music to a wider audience and offer a global community of artistic criticism and support.

I've been sitting on so many songs for so long, but retracted to a state of protection and lockdown in my own life when 2020 hit us all so hard.  in 2019 I had been on the up-swing, ready to dive into more live performances and releasing music, but put it all on pause for a bit.  "Artifacts" is my first step to build that momentum, share my music with the world once more, and continue building with the love and support of fans, friends, and family.

You Caught Me

02 - Salt & Sun [from album "Salt & Sun" out now!]

After having to re-assign all of my MIDI mappings to Reason, I played around with the current version of my live performance rig.  This groover came about and I decided to do a 1-take recording.. simple yet I enjoy it.

I came away with a number of things to adjust/change/fix/add. 

Drums: Ableton Live Drum Rack with various hit samples from my library. Controlled with Novation Launchpad using Launchpad95 drum sequencer.

Bass: Korg Electribe ER-1, played the simple bass line into the live record and let it loop.

Pad: Played live w/the MIDI keyboard, which is re-wired from Ableton Live to a Reason combinator NN-XT sampler.

City Shadows came out of late nights spent playing with new software and hardware instead of focusing on my studies in school.  Downtempo, chillout, trip-hop, and breaks became the bulk of my musical diet and this album is a direct result of discovering that music.

The first track, Calm Control reached the #3 spot in the Trip-Hop and Down Tempo catagories on mp3.com (before CNET bought them, for those who remember!).

The album attempts to convey my fascination with large cities and the more relaxing side opposed to the hustle & bustle of everyday life.
