It Will Never Be The Same

When I moved to Atlanta back in 1995, one of the first places that I used to hang out and gig at was a little speakeasy in the basement of the Ponce de Leon Hotel called the MJQ. It was started by a 6'5" Swedish/Korean guy named George Chang, and he named it after his favorite jazz combo. He introduced a lot of us that hung out there to the music that was being played in underground clubs in the UK at the time.
I wrote this composition about 15 years ago in remembrance of him and what he did for the art scene.

This started as a vocal track called Love Affair that I did with a production team that I was a part of back in the 00s. I added "Gone Bad" just to differentiate it from the original. 
My childhood musical partner Bill Reinersmann is playing drums. I've always been a fan of drum solos, I'm a frustrated drummer at heart, so I like using this composition as a showcase for drummers.
