Dubbing The Everyday is a radioshow going on every second tuesday of the month on Rough Radio.

The show consists of a sonic surrogate in which music, field recordings, foley, interview excerpts and other amenities come together to create an anthology of the artist's daily life between the city and the countryside. The mix is used as a technique for editing sound narratives that seamlessly alternate rhythmic and atmospheric moments, moving between the boundaries, genres and BPMs of contemporary electronic music.

EP01 is dedicated to the alchemical power of sound and the transformation of one's dreams,  emotions and way of being through music.

Dubbing The Everyday (Pilot Episode 02.01.2025) - Rough Radio

Dubbing The Everyday is a radioshow going on every second tuesday of the month on Rough Radio, hosted by Slothmachines.

The show consists of a sonic surrogate in which music, field recordings, foley, interview excerpts and other amenities come together to create an anthology of the artist's daily life between the city and the countryside. The mix is used as a technique for editing sound narratives that seamlessly alternate rhythmic and atmospheric moments, moving between the boundaries, genres and BPMs of contemporary electronic music.

EP02 celebrates (non) workers' day through a critique of the work ethic. The first half of the selection aims at reconstructing the poignant character of work by progressively building tension through the mix of cinematic elements, drones and dark, deep dubstep that serve as a backdrop for the excerpts from ‘The Working Class Goes to Heaven’ (Elio Petri, 1972). In the second part of the selection, the tension is released with the entry into a natural landscape, accompanied by the reflections of Masanobu Fukuoka, Nick Snriceck, Philippe Goddard and André Gorz on the art of doing nothing, of resistance to work and the pursuit of the meaning of life beyond productivity.

Slothmachines UNOLAB FM

Last month I have travelled and played a lot. This episode was meant to showcase a set played by a lot of people at a wedding of a very close friend of mine. The set was amazing but the recording was very distorted so I decided to keep it as a memory for myself and to take another one by myself, in my room.

Slothmachines ALMANACCO TERMINAL 1

The fourth episode of DTE was recorded live at Almanacco Terminal 1, an event organised by the artistic collective Progetto Alma to present a curatorship of visual and musical artists. I had the chance to play longer than expected disrupting the set by opening a microphone to the public during the second half of my performance.  I like preparing these moments with care and then giving myself the possibility of twisting them by accepting any result. Working on deconstructing expectations and performativity allows room for surprise, which is always the best thing to take
home.

Dubbing the Everyday (EP04/S01 - 08.07.2025) - Rough Radio

Slothmachines is the moniker with which Francesco has been spreading his sound research for years, performing djsets and experimentations that move across different genres, boundaries and BPMs of contemporary electronic music. Francesco mutuates a playful and yet critical attitude to listening and djing from his work as social researcher, as evident in the eclectic and ever-changing soundscapes he creates  by mixing music with sound cues drawn from his life between the city and the countryside.  He is co-founder and resident of the audio-video collective Stasis, which has been moving in and out of clubs since 2018, curating parties, concerts, exhibitions, workshops, installations and editorial contents.  He has residency on Rough Radio called "Dubbing the everyday" which is broadcasted every 2nd tuesday of the month.
