Our second vinyl release comes from within the house. Juan Ferreyra, co-founder of Easy Latino Records, drops his debut EP on the label: I didn’t buy my Dr Märtens.

True to his style, Juan doesn’t take production or himself too seriously — and that playfulness shines through these four tracks. We are 3 weeks in and day 21 continues the journey into the DISCO19 vault once more.

“Tana” was written for my debut Transmission 2023 Poland set. Built on a deep hypnotic groove driven by African vocal textures and slow-burning melodic tension.
This was one of the core elements of the unreleased album project, which never materialized, so the track stayed locked away on my hard drive.

Today it finally comes out of hiding.

Dark Cycle est un morceau electro sombre et hypnotique qui explore le thème de la réincarnation comme une mécanique implacable. Portée par une rythmique froide et minimaliste, la composition installe une atmosphère nocturne où le temps semble se replier sur lui-même.

La voix grave, presque parlée, agit comme un monologue intérieur : un esprit prisonnier d’un cycle éternel de morts et de renaissances. Entre chant et spoken word, elle traverse le morceau comme une confession tardive, intime et désabusée. Chaque phrase évoque la mémoire fragmentée d’existences passées, des amours fantômes et des erreurs répétées.

Musicalement, Dark Cycle s’inscrit dans une electro profonde et cinématographique, à la frontière de la techno et de l’ambient sombre. Les textures sont denses, parfois austères, laissant l’espace nécessaire au silence et à la tension. L’ensemble crée une expérience immersive, presque rituelle, où la danse devient méditation.

Dark Cycle n’est pas un titre orienté vers l’évasion, mais vers la confrontation : celle de l’âme face à l’éternel retour, et la question ultime — peut-on se souvenir assez pour briser la boucle ?

The unhurried rhythm of evolution.

Slow Life came into being in 2011 when an easygoing set of Spaniards & Italians crossed paths and coalesced in Berlin. The current collective consists of Laurine, Cecilio, S. Moreira, and Santi Uribe a.k.a. Indi Zone. The music they play, like the music they produce, is bound together by threads of luminosity and timelessness. 

Between innumerable hours in the studio, a knack for sourcing new talent, and thoughtful art direction, the label grew steadily and organically, and a signature Slow Life identity began to emerge. This led naturally to parties at their homebase in Hoppetosse and the globe-trotting showcases for which the group has become widely known. Ardent digging and long, mesmerizing DJ-sets are central to their craft; they fabricate a musical space for the audience to get lost in, the adventure going as far and deep as the collective imagination will allow. To put it simply: they know how to throw a party and make you feel right at home. 

Each release on the label invokes a timestamp of their intersections and environment, resulting in collaborations with Primary Perception, Basement Space, and Paolo Mosca, to name a few. Strains of jazz, breaks, and ambient music inflect Slow Life’s singular sound with a charismatic balance of discerning taste and approachability.

Slow Life is about taking time and the unhurried rhythm of evolution. Music as a celebration of music. No rush, no pretense, no limitations — only deep work, positive expression, and playful experimentation.
