The VSVN Podcast continues its international jet set with a trip to the sunny streets of Bogotá, Colombia - introducing the wizard behind one of my very fave tunes from 2020, Nicolas Duque. 

With his playful take on UK garage, house and rave sounds, you’d be forgiven for thinking that @nicol-s-duque-1 grew up up on British shores. Nicolas has the rare ability to put his very own personal stamp on classic UK sounds to make music that sounds fresher than an ice cool sunrise. 

The past twelve months have seen Nicolas feature on compilations for Dansu Discs and Breaks N’ Pieces before releasing his debut EP on the former - Breaks ’N’ Pieces Vol. 6. Whether he’s flirting with RnB infused UKG or dropping some heads down, no nonsense Bristol-influenced breakbeat, this EP really shows his versatility and depth as a producer and is a must-listen for any crate digger. 

Featuring a whole array of sweltering house and steamy tech house, if Nicolas’ VSVN Podcast doesn’t get you excited for summer and post-lockdown festivals, I don’t know what will!*

"On the strength of its first journey with Charles on Alharara, VISOLUX probe is now seeking for new extra-planetary sound recordings. Ambition is still the same : draw a sound mapping of Kepler-129’s surrounding galaxy, planet after planet, each time sampling their sonic signature. 
For this second mission, VISOLUX targets Metaquine, a tiny neon green planet. On its board, man-machine Tjoeaon, musical cyborg built in the ancient earthly city of Rotterdam, today honorary citizen of Kepler-129."
He realized Metaquine’s sound sampling thanks to a tasty “spatio-dutch” technology : welcome Tjoeaon and its VISOLUX002 !

Deep In Dis Intl. proudly presents the 9th installment of the "Deep In Dis Mixes' series with special upcoming and guest deejay CATALINA, who caught our attention with her unique sets delivering different genres and styles with a great track selection.
Hailing from Romania, Catalina's musical style is as broad as her background. Her musical interested were shaped by her years spent in the clubs of London, listening to a variety of UK-inspired genres. She made headway by playing renowned clubs such as XOYO, Corsica Studios and Printworks, and featuring on radio shows like Balamii and the formerly known 199radio. Since moving back to her hometown of Brussels, Catalina has made mixes for radioshows such as Kiosk Radio and the Word, as well as collectives like Klub Dramatik. 
We are thrilled to have Catalina joining us for one hour and thirteen minutes of pure bliss.

The unhurried rhythm of evolution.

Slow Life came into being in 2011 when an easygoing set of Spaniards & Italians crossed paths and coalesced in Berlin. The current collective consists of Laurine, Cecilio, S. Moreira, and Santi Uribe a.k.a. Indi Zone. The music they play, like the music they produce, is bound together by threads of luminosity and timelessness. 

Between innumerable hours in the studio, a knack for sourcing new talent, and thoughtful art direction, the label grew steadily and organically, and a signature Slow Life identity began to emerge. This led naturally to parties at their homebase in Hoppetosse and the globe-trotting showcases for which the group has become widely known. Ardent digging and long, mesmerizing DJ-sets are central to their craft; they fabricate a musical space for the audience to get lost in, the adventure going as far and deep as the collective imagination will allow. To put it simply: they know how to throw a party and make you feel right at home. 

Each release on the label invokes a timestamp of their intersections and environment, resulting in collaborations with Primary Perception, Basement Space, and Paolo Mosca, to name a few. Strains of jazz, breaks, and ambient music inflect Slow Life’s singular sound with a charismatic balance of discerning taste and approachability.

Slow Life is about taking time and the unhurried rhythm of evolution. Music as a celebration of music. No rush, no pretense, no limitations — only deep work, positive expression, and playful experimentation.
