excellent phrasing on the bassline...great combo of timbres, but I think the section following could be a bit stronger to match the intensity of the first section IMO.  Great work!!  Keep it up!

Feels like the kick drum is killing the mix!

It's been just over 2 years since i last released any music. During that time I have become increasingly aware of things that seem to be slowly, but ever more rapidly, threatening our society, our environment and our future, to the point that i feel it is my duty to encourage people to wrench their heads from the sand in which they continue to (possibly naively) bury them... To speak, shout and scream at them in the hope that we can somehow make a difference together....

I extend that encouragement through my music and lyrics. I hope that this comes across in these five songs. Not one single note or word has been written for selfish reward or recognition, but instead were written with unequivocal integrity; Don't give me your money! Don't give me your praise or your criticisms! I'm not asking for any of it; if you feel the need to spend money or make your opinion heard, I would much prefer you to go and make a donation to a good cause, sign a petition, cast a vote, or do anything to actively improve the world in any big or small way you can... As individuals our tiny voices are useless, but as a collective wall of sound, we can do anything! This EP is one of my small contributions.

The sounds we make today, no matter how quiet, won't just echo once... They will reverberate multiple times. And with each reverberation, instead of losing power, we will reinforce them with our unity, strengthen them with our conviction, and propel them forward with our passion, to keep them echoing for as long as we have the means to make ourselves heard. 

We must look to the future with positivity. For it is ours!

on completion of this track, i realised that this was the first time since i started producing music, that i had been amazed at what i had been able to create. this song is a massive milestone for me. i have spent the last few weeks, building my knowledge of music production, practicing techniques, and now finally, puting it all together with some help from my band mate Charlie on the strings. i would obviously still class myself as an amateur producer, and i expect a lot more of these feelings as i continue to improve, but to do so i need lots of feedback on this track in areas where i am still lacking.

The Qemists - Take It Back (Konfadense Mosh Remix)

"Slow Motion Explosions" are Tom, Charlie and Glen and we use a mixture of lots of different styles and genres to achieve our sound, including dubstep, rock, trance, metal, drum n bass, electro and even some classical touches here and there.
Tom’s role in the band is “production and effects” aswell as lyrics and vocals. His main influences throughout his time as a producer have been Linkin Park, first and foremost, aswell as Enter Shikari, The Qemists, and a few dubstep producers such as Nero, Skream, Sub Focus, Bassnectar, True Tiger and Chase & Status . Tom has previously produced his own remix album, which included remixes of songs by Jay Z, PPK and Snoop Dogg, and is currently working on a second remix album (Dubstep remixes currently in production include songs by Kings of Leon, Lostprophets, Arctic Monkeys, The Enemy, Paramore, The Kooks, Bloc Party, Coldplay, 30 Seconds to Mars and others) in addition to Slow Motion Explosions debut album of original songs. Tom's main weapon of choice is FL Studio 9.

Charlie is the bands drummer and has played in a number of bands to date currently including an ever increasingly successful band called Severn from Mansfield (check out Severn08 cos they're ace). He has a wide range of influences, from heavy rock bands such as Biffy Clyro and Iron Maiden, to more electro focused bands such as The Prodigy and Enter Shikari. Charlie is an extremely creative musician, and so also takes a front seat in other aspects of our music besides drums, such as producing the guitar riffs and the electro elements.

Glen is SME’s guitarist. His biggest influences on his playing style are Guns and Roses and Jimmy Hendrix, focusing on complex riffs and long solos. Glen plays in a band called "The Nine of Hearts" who gig around our local area.
As we have only recently formed the band, we do not have any finished songs yet, but some of Tom’s solo dubstep/ rock stuff has been uploaded and we will upload the bands songs as and when they are finished.
