Pour ce numéro 148, nous avons l'honneur de recevoir pour ce dernier Foutoir de la saison, quelqu'un que l'on ne présente pas : @cursesforever ! Luca Venezia de son vrai nom est un dj et producteur américain basé à Berlin, il y a maintenant plus d'une dizaine d'années qui a su se réinventer et est aller puiser dans ses influences passées à savoir le punk et l'électronique des années 80. De ce savant mélange en est sorti la Next Wave Acid Punx, terme qu'il utilisé pour ses superbes compilations sorties chez Eskimo Records. Est-ce un style ? Plus un art de vivre où se retrouverait les gothiques et les fans de new beat... avec toujours une touche de rock.

"First of all thank you again for the invite, I’m super happy to be on italorator! It’s probably my favourite mix series at the moment.

Initially I tried to exclusively pick tacks that hadn't been featured on italorator before but I certainly missed some. In the end I went for a selection that best reflects my personal taste and appreciation for the genre, including some of my all time favorites and new found gems. Besides Italo I ventured into adjacent genres like early acid house and new beat but kept the overall vibe seductive and sleazy, just how I like it. I have been waiting for a chance to open a set with Einzelhaft by Falco (from one of the best albums ever made, no doubt) and this seemed like a worthy occasion."

Furotica, formerly known as Furor Exótica, is an Argentinian dancefloor-oriented duo from Buenos Aires, formed in 2014 by vocalist Barbie Garbage and producer Ric Piccolo. They have five powerful EPs and multiple V/A collaborations on labels such as Bordello A Parigi, Toy Tonics, Tom Tom Disco, and Boots & Legs.

With their latest release, Rebirth Is Hardwire (2025), the duo shed their former skin to reveal a sleeker, more menacing incarnation. One where vintage synth-wave Mushroom House Vol 3 (12" vinyl) collides headfirst with razor-edged Italo-Disco, wired tight with a delirious, psychedelic charge. 

Since the project began, they have toured extensively across South America, Europe, and Asia, performing at various clubs and festivals worldwide. Furotica has been remixed by Franz Scala, Kay-chi. Richard Rossa, Frank Agrario, Fabrizio Mammarella, Leitstrahl, Future Feelings, Kayroy & Greetings, Alan Dente, Trujillo, and Donald's House, among others.

Pour ce numéro 168, c'est @zaatar_music qui s'y colle en nous faisant le grand honneur de nous transmettre un set enregistré à la Machine du Moulin Rouge le 24/01/2025 pour les 5 ans du label @ritmofatale...
La musique de Zaatar est la combinaison particulière de ses deux origines : marocaine et belge. Elle trouve son inspiration dans le mouvement post punk et EBM de la fin des années 80 et du début des années 90. Ses morceaux sont donc construits autour d'une ligne de base grinçante et rugueuse qui crée l'ambiance pour des danses corporelles frénétiques. Des mélodies et des sons hérités de son pays d'origine - le Maroc - complètent son paysage sonore d'une manière qui lui est propre.
