Günce Acı makes her Factor City debut with 3 excellent original tracks followed by solid remixes from Modular Project and Stockholm Youth.
Istanbul-based Dj/Producer Günce Acı has been spinning in many clubs, venues and festivals in Istanbul underground music scene since 2014 and recently in Europe. Influenced by Indie-dance, new wave, electronica and ebm. Her hypnotic pads, powerful bass lines and absurd melodies meet under the roof of her signature sound. She has already showed her talent in great labels such us Ombra INTL or Nein.
Here we have 3 new examples of her very personal and effective take on dance music. Her unique rendition is full of brazen rhythms, sharp beats and moving percussions. Powerful and sleazy bass lines. And hypnotic and mental synth stabs and pads.
The remixes come by Italian rising duo Modular Project. Their take on “Dream of the sirens” is a riveting and percussive ride. A perfectly crafted retouch.
And production team Stockholm Youth, formed by Stockholm Syndrome and Tronic Youth, who deliver a raw, distorted and darker version of “Exposure”.

Daniel Solís aka Second Gate delivers his debut EP straight from the heart of Mexico, bringing his genre-bending approach to the label through 3 tracks inspired by the Latin American culture developed around mysticism and black magic. It includes three unique and delightful remixes by Bonnie Spacey, Anastasia Zems and Ives Barceló.

Starting with Santero, presenting a powerful analog bass serves as a foundation for tribal drums, mysterious chants and glitched vocals. Everything is wrapped up by the dark atmospheres that will launch listeners into a trip through an eerie and mysterious jungle. 

Followed by the remixes, French and Marseille based Dj & Producer, Bonnie Spacey, also head of Critical Monday is in charge of adding some lightness to the Ep, landing some Italo/Synthwave vibes plus an exquisite vocal. 

Adding more female power to the label, we have the honor to have Anastasia Zems, with releases on Whypeopledance, Les Yeux Orange and Human Endeavour debuting as well on the label, bringing an unique feel to the release, trippy, clubby and hypnotic, just perfect for a peak time hour.

Ives Barceló strikes back with an enigmatic mix, inspired by the magic lands of Veracruz, México, bringing to you a joyful journey to the deep jungle of Catemaco, somehow you will witness some eerie voices from the witches calling you for an introspective trip. 

For Black Magic, it has a powerful bass followed by modular synthesizers take us onto a trip through a dark landscape full of polyrhythms, granular synths and every weird technique that came to Daniels mind while he delivers his mysterious and hypnotic style to this Indie Dance with Electro influences track.   

Closing with Twisted Man, fusing Indie Dance and Dub music, its rumbly bass and dub chords will push any dancefloor into psychedelic frenzy. The weird atmospheres and drones slowly creep through the track, ready to be replaced by mind melting leads and techno drums when the track comes to its highest point.

PREMIERE – CT Kidobo – Racing Thoughts (Bordello)

Hola Olas is the electronic music project of Axel Smet and Quinten De Meester. Both shared a love for genres like Italo disco, electro, new wave, and indie dance and decided to start off a project honoring these genres back in '18. The sound of this project is therefore a mixture of the above genres with the addition of a personal touch. The past few years have been an ongoing search that is unfinished to this day, to fine-tune a sound that is recognizable, yet fresh.

This EP is in fact a reflection on our state of mind of a turbulent year '22 for us. Some tracks refer to finding new courage and hope while others express the longing for long-lost loves. The record turned out in the style it did because we think this sounds best matches our experiences.
The mix of house, Italo, with references to early trance and electro creates a hybrid that best fulfills this task. In a parallel universe, this record might as well have been pastoral or classical music because of its charged themes. However, we want to break through the melancholy with an upbeat groove that is contagious and takes you on a bittersweet trip.
