Three undoubtedly danceable MAMORÉ Originals on Side A and two dancefloor-suitable Remixes by Franz Scala and the AROMA + Soundsystem on Side B form the Hit-on-Hit Vinyl Release of the year 2021. Somehow new, somehow wavey. As a catchy tune somehow very difficult to get rid of.

Franz Scala’s sets are as diverse as the music he curates as label head of Slow Motion. Weaving smoothly between Italian Dance, Psychedelic Disco and Proto House, Franz quickly turns the dance floor into a vignette-tainted retro nostalgia rave fueled only by his music. 

Born in Italy and now a resident of Berlin for a decade Franz has his roots in noise rock and elettronica but was led by the record collectors passion into acquiring a taste for modern and not so modern dance floor music. He frequently inspires dancers in clubs all over Europe with his eclectic blend of spacey House, New Wave, Italo and Acid speckled with hints of Electro and Chicago House.

Aside from producing on his own imprint, he has releases on World Unknown, Bordello A Parigi, Bahnsteig 23, Tusk Wax, Mechatronica or Discodromo´s Cocktail d’Amore Music. Franz is link to many events around the german capital such as the monthly Wrong Era, Italian Dance Wave and Italorama night in Panorama Bar, Magic Waves or New Dance Fantasy Festival.

Beside long time collaboration with Sameheads he is regular dj at Griessmuhle and Salon zur Wilden Renate. In 2013 he joined Dimitri SoEmotional in the “Studio Luce” project.

Laced with crisp thunderous energy, ‘Good Girls Always Play Piano’ starts the release with strength, marching you into the acidic, electro machine ‘Mouth Work’. Sophistication swims through Karolina’s release, with perfectly placed cinematic vocoder lines and tasteful flashes of electro. 

'Spinal Emotion' is another distinguished synth lead track rich with intelligent earworms rattling through beautiful instrumentation. Triggers and responses dance off each other with ease. The record culminates in the menacing, artful dissonance of ‘They Are Coming', a compelling, aptly named track with a captivating arcane nature. Another ground-breaking collaboration between the pair which again features Mammarella’s signature arcane arps and the sweeping, glassy harmonies of Rodion. Fabrizio has also pieced together a Dub mix of the track that explores the further corners of his sonic world, displaying his innate gifts for creating future classics.

The opening track ‘Iris’ sets the exceptional tone for this release. Fully exploring the realms within the Marche with an eerie, metallic tropical soundscape showing their discoveries' breadth. ‘A Corrente Alternata’ brings us back to Mammerella and Rodion’s revered partnership as unmatched creators of enigmatic, timeless earworms. The driving bassline sits beautifully within the characterfully saturated drums and tweets of an equally enigmatic synthesiser.

‘Un Segnale Di Speranza‘ launches us into the infectious, mind-bending signature arps of Mammerella and the rising harmonies of Rodion, with another ground-shattering bassline and arcane vocoders that transport you to peak time at Slow Motion’s Italorama Bar. ‘Musica E Computer’s’ soundscapes provide rich blends of the synthetic and organic sounds of the Italian region, acting as a geographic coda that can also be heard in ‘La Domenica Del Villaggio’.

‘La Memoria Dei Sistemi’ slips us back into the energetic, electronic environment that Rodion and Mammerella have so delicately crafted. Driving us through the celestial alchemy of this atmospheric track, which leads us to the chiming finish of ‘Una Nuova Era’. This ties together a transcendent homage to Musica E Computer’s recording surroundings and a bar-setting conclusion to another captivating masterpiece from the duo.
