Scratch Massive celebrates the 10th anniversary of their cult Nuit De Reve album by enlisting new remixes from heavyweight talents including Ame, Thomas Schumacher, Manfredas, Bezier, Turbotito, MRD and more. Scratch Massive is French duo Maud Geffray and Sebastien Chenut. For their landmark 2011 album, they were joined by vocal talents Jimmy Somerville, Daniel Agust, Koudlam and Chloe. A new wave and electro masterclass took the band to a whole new level after earlier albums ‘Enemy & Lovers’ and ‘Time’ laid solid foundations. Over the last decade, the pair have remained at the top of their game with four further LPs, including most recently ‘Live in Paris’ from earlier in 2021. They are proven masters of electro-tinged, slow-motion house who have also written original soundtracks. Their knack for crafting moody, cinematic sounds makes them perennial underground favourites. This new remix album adds plenty of fresh new perspectives to their still-classic original. There are many highlights here, not least The Populist's Post-Apocalypso Remix of 'Pleine Lune', which is as rugged as electro comes.

Spanish artist James Rod joins Roam Recordings with two original mid tempo driving psychedelic offerings. The title track Baila con Satán features a warped vocal backed by an energetic swirl of electronic mischief. Metatrone goes deeper with hypnotic trance inducing arpeggios and moving synth work. Duncan Gray returns to Roam with two remixes - one for each original. Duncan’s take on Baila con Satán keeps the psychedelic vibe of the ep but put it into more chill territory with live bass and guitar echoing about the ether. By contrast, Duncan Gray’s remix of Metatrone picks up the tempo and brings the acid.

Daniel Solís aka Second Gate delivers his debut EP straight from the heart of Mexico, bringing his genre-bending approach to the label through 3 tracks inspired by the Latin American culture developed around mysticism and black magic. It includes three unique and delightful remixes by Bonnie Spacey, Anastasia Zems and Ives Barceló.

Starting with Santero, presenting a powerful analog bass serves as a foundation for tribal drums, mysterious chants and glitched vocals. Everything is wrapped up by the dark atmospheres that will launch listeners into a trip through an eerie and mysterious jungle. 

Followed by the remixes, French and Marseille based Dj & Producer, Bonnie Spacey, also head of Critical Monday is in charge of adding some lightness to the Ep, landing some Italo/Synthwave vibes plus an exquisite vocal. 

Adding more female power to the label, we have the honor to have Anastasia Zems, with releases on Whypeopledance, Les Yeux Orange and Human Endeavour debuting as well on the label, bringing an unique feel to the release, trippy, clubby and hypnotic, just perfect for a peak time hour.

Ives Barceló strikes back with an enigmatic mix, inspired by the magic lands of Veracruz, México, bringing to you a joyful journey to the deep jungle of Catemaco, somehow you will witness some eerie voices from the witches calling you for an introspective trip. 

For Black Magic, it has a powerful bass followed by modular synthesizers take us onto a trip through a dark landscape full of polyrhythms, granular synths and every weird technique that came to Daniels mind while he delivers his mysterious and hypnotic style to this Indie Dance with Electro influences track.   

Closing with Twisted Man, fusing Indie Dance and Dub music, its rumbly bass and dub chords will push any dancefloor into psychedelic frenzy. The weird atmospheres and drones slowly creep through the track, ready to be replaced by mind melting leads and techno drums when the track comes to its highest point.

After years of exploring fictional dystopian futures in sound Ubre Blanca, like everyone else, found themselves living through a real life dystopian nightmare during the COVID pandemic. The ensuing chaos and forced hiatus from playing live changed their way of working and the direction of the new music.
Drawing on old and new influences ranging from the pioneers of '70s synth music to the contemporary wave of Dark Disco and Neo-Italo via '90s rave, House and Trance, the resulting album, 'Rhizome' is an unabashed celebration of being back on the dance floor and a way of reaching out and reconnecting with other artists and DJs around the world.
From 'Narcopolis', a tribute to old-school House with an Italo twist and 'Pacific Palisades' recalling the band's 'Terminal Island' EP and '80s FM euphoria to the three part 'Nocturne' suite, which evolves from the band's long-time John Carpenter influenced sound through a space rock slide guitar solo into Synthwave territory, this album sees Ubre Blanca exploring the roots of the band's sound and influences and branching out in new directions. Released digital and on tape on young Archaic Future Sounds.
