Today we are sheltering ourselves from the storm with a super cozy mix from @lecoutelier aka the Swiss army knife! Part of the crew of @boudoirmoderne, he is also sharing his artworks & record collection on @ disastro.discoteca, and it seems like he also has time to record a very cool set for us. Bringing together some of the secret weapons that label boss Franz Underwear has had tucked away in his record bag with brand new tracks from the likes of Clap Rules, Bottin and Riders of the Lost Arp this compilation packs a mighty punch with its 22 tracks. 16 of the finest cuts that have been causing damage on the dancefloor will also be released on vinyl alongside the CD and digital release.

Gala is a DJ and producer from Buenos Aires, Argentina. She is the co-founder, along with Mystery Friend, of the recently launched Fusion Dance party and record label.

Her sets are characterized by a fusion of 80s and 90s sounds, blending genres such as house, italo, acid, electro, and dark-disco. She has a musical range that spans both the past and the present: on the dancefloor, the rawness of the machines interacts with the subtlety of the vocals, hypnotic melodies, and deep basslines. In her recordings, she showcases a different side, immersing herself in the cadence of downtempo, funk, dub, and balearic sounds

GABRIELA MIX #35 ~ MODERNA

Anyone following this guest mix series will probably know our next guest. He’s been a huge inspiration for Blank Wave, and one of the main reasons this platform exists in the first place.

Luca Venezia aka Curses — the Berlin-based DJ, producer, and label curator — blends New Wave, Post-Punk, Italo-Disco and EBM into dark, romantic club soundscapes that bridge nostalgia and modern energy (like no other). His latest album Another Heaven (2024) showcases his evolving sound, following Incarnadine (2022) and his debut Romantic Fiction (2018).

Together with Skelesys, he brought the duo Silver Tears to life, delivering a guitar-driven mixture of Post-Punk and Dark Wave with haunting melodies and cinematic textures. Curses also curates the brilliant Next Wave Acid Punx compilation series and runs Ombra International, a label dedicated to shadowy dance music from around the globe. His live sets, often featuring bassist Dame Bonnet, add a raw, post-punk edge to the dance floor and you should visit his live show whenever possible. With his monthly radio show Together Alone, Curses continues to navigate the twilight zone between wave and club culture — making him one of the defining voices of this darkly romantic movement.

N.O.I.A. - Looking For Love (Ajello Version)

As Ajello say:
“The idea for a cover version of N.O.I.A. The Rule To Survive (Looking For Love)was born a couple of years ago – an idea of Alessandro Piatto, younger brother of Davide Piatto, original member of N.O.I.A. As soon as Alessandro proposed it, we asked whether we could have the original tracks but, unfortunately, they have been lost over the years. Immediately his brother Davide brought together the original lineup of N.O.I.A. and locked them up in the studio to record the voice from scratch and some of the synth parts. Our intervention was first on the drums, replacing the original for a more uptempo beat, and then the bassline, shaping it to a more modern sound. The vocals were treated with filters and echoes, and we also added some new guitar parts and synth lines. It was an honour to us, Ajello, to bring to light an Italo-disco classic that has really influenced us and we have put all our efforts to create a version that is timeless, as much as the original. "
